Some people get treated differently than others; allowed to leave early or not even show up at all. Salaries are widely different. Promotions are not based on work or effort. IF you kiss butt you get a bonus or pay raise. Otherwise just "shut your mouth" is how they see it. The people paid a lot... do not do much. Those that work hard are not paid enough. If you have been there 20 years then you can get away with some stuff. Too cheap to hire a secretary. Random calls are ringing on all phones all day. There are no cubicles. All is open space. Everyone can see your every move. There are cameras watching every room of the office. Management goes on vacation and they watching to see and scare everyone into staring at their computer screen from 9am to 5pm. And how long you spend in the bathroom. There is no human resources, you are expected to know how they operate. Magically. If you want a day off expect to explain (to the owner) how your grandmother died and where she is being buried.
