Multi-Mode Fiber (MMF) and Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP) cable options are not for sale, effective December 1, 2021. However, existing Metro Connect installations with MMF and UTF continue to be supported.

Sign into Equinix Marketplace and click the Locations & Connectivity card. You can do a connectivity check for the source and destination data center locations. Determine if the correct port speed is available for your Metro Connect needs.

Extended Metro Connect via Building Meet-Me Room (BMMR) is available at CH1/2/4, DA1/4/7, LA1, NY1, SE2/3, and TR1/2. Note that AT2/3 BMMR has capacity constraints and can only be requested through your account team.

Equinix supports only Single-Mode Fiber (SMF), which carries a single ray of light (mode) for long-distance and high-speed transmissions.
