Great spot for lunch with our young family. Sizzlers would great and mac'n'cheese pleased the children too. Shame we weren't allowed to sit upstairs for lunch but other than that would recommend.

Overpriced, small portions and timing of food service slow and fractured. Dont supply you with a receipt for food and got order wrong. Food good.

This is our favourite find in the South Hams. It’s beautiful. There is everything you need nearby; lovely pubs and afternoon tea, friendly locals and beautiful beaches.

Great range of food and drink options. Staff could do with some lessons on customer service! But great to have some food and drink options in this area. Great views.

We ordered 3 cream teas, for 3 adults and a toddler........ maybe we should have ordered 2 and shared, there was so much. The scones were amazing and the coffee was spot on. Do go inside to order tho as I stood at the hatch for 10mins and was ignored.

The property is beautiful in an outstanding area. Shame that the outside and inside cleanliness was not up to a standard

Central to the village and just steps from the beach, this is a warm and welcoming pub with characterful interiors and a spacious outside terrace.  Friendly staff serve hearty breakfasts, lunches and dinners using fresh local ingredients as well as a range of coffees, local ales and other drinks.

We visited whilst on holiday in Hope Cove several times. Staff always friendly and obliging . Menu catered for our mixed age range party.

Great Cove. Fab location. Unfortunately the one cove had a lot of seaweed washed in due to the windy and stormy weather over our first weekend, but that can't be helped. But it meant we only went to the beach there once.

The property is beautiful in an outstanding area. Shame that the outside and inside cleanliness was not up to a standard

our first time booking through toad hall cottagesand our first time at seabrook. was that impressed we have booked it for next year

Lovely beach, stunning views and a safe place for children to rock pool, and swim. Spoiled for us by the large numbers of kite surfers dominating the water along with the surf school who took little account of those families enjoying the beach ordering people out of the water when they had a schooling session on. Words were had. They need to understand it isn't their property and if people want to enjoy the beach, they need to move to a spot where they aren't bothering people. Good car parking and a nice little cafe selling cakes/flapjacks and coffee with WC next to it, so beach-goers are well catered for. Could have done without the thump thump music and bar flies in shades but that's typical of many such places these days. On the whole a great beach with decent accessibility via car or foot and preferable in many ways to the larger beach at Thurlestone during peak times, and preferable to the beaches at Hope Cove when busy.

Had a lovely meal here for our last night in Hope Cove. Myself and my daughter had the seafood platter to share.. wow..there was loads on there and so tasty! Worth the money!

Great place. Have visited in winter and summer and think I might even prefer it on a blustery winters day. The food is great and good right next to you, which does make it a little bit smelly but it's all part of the experience. The building is really unique and has an amazing location right by the beach. Summer gets a bit crazy and we found ourselves queuing a lot for the takeout food which was a bit over priced.

like most hospitality venues, the pub is short staffed which impacts on the service provided. food is average and prices are comparable to other venues in the area.

Great range of food and drink options. Staff could do with some lessons on customer service! But great to have some food and drink options in this area. Great views.

Just had an amazing week in Hope Cove with incredible weather and ate here on two occasions. Both equally enjoyable. Cosy atmosphere, log fire, friendly staff , great food and dogs welcome! Loved it!! Thank you

Great little beach cafe. It's snug inside but the food is delicious, highly recommend trying the local 'catch of the day'! Recommend that you book in advance to avoid disappointment.

Beautiful location with stunning views especially as the sun is setting. Food is very good too and staff are very friendly.

A well designed living space which is full of light, flowing beautifully through onto the outside deck to give the full experience of the outside coming in. During our stay, the weather was stunning and Seabrook enabled us to experience it in full. So much so that every evening, we were more than happy to eat on the terrace whilst enjoying our own private sunsets.

Beautiful sandy beach. Large well organised NT car park which filled up quickly on a sunny weekend. Younger family members enjoyed hiring a paddle board for half an hour. Wet suits a good idea!

Great spot for lunch with our young family. Sizzlers would great and mac'n'cheese pleased the children too. Shame we weren't allowed to sit upstairs for lunch but other than that would recommend.

Such friendly staff and coping really well with Covid rules. We just stopped by for a drink this year - such a lovely balcony to sit and watch the waves

We enjoyed our stay but found the main bed not great to soft but that is a matter of choice ,i think the quality of the mugs and some of the cooking containers poor for this quality of property. we stay in holiday cottages two to three times a year and have done for many years .

Fabulous, tasty food and very friendly helpful service. Good quality fish and seafood. Very cosy and a bit of a tight squeeze with our two dogs but the staff were very helpful and accommodating. We ate here 3 times during our week and would definitely return as long as they don't get too busy following rave reviews!

Yes the young folk went to surf. Thoroughly enjoyed the time there. Access for older folk to cafe was ok but we couldn’t get down to the beach

Great quiet beach with wonderful coastal walk alongside gold course round to Bantham. Parked free in field adjacent to golf club, although we understand they will be charging for parking soon. Only downside was that the public toilets were closed - we went October 2018.

Despite the problems outlined above we had a wonderful stay, the accommodation is perfect for family get aways and the location is excellent. What a shame these few issues cannot be resolved.

The cottage was lovely, very well kept and the enclosed garden was brilliant. We had an initial issue with the washing machine and the caretakers were very easy to get hold of and fixed it straight away. I would highly recommend this cottage and the service by Toad Hall Cottages generally.

Friendly , beautiful - everything you could want in a holiday spot - didn't matter what the weather was like ,plenty to do and see .

We visited The Beach House on our last evening of the holiday. The only complaint is we didn't visit sooner! What wonderful welcoming staff and superb food. A cosy place right by the sea, cooking the most delicious food. I had the scallops for main and were the best I've eaten and perfectly cooked. Love this place.

Inspirational place. High green ethics so heartening to see. Innovative, fantastic staff, great food. Had 3 takeaway pizzas which were the best pizzas we had ever tasted. Lovely balcony upstairs with stunning views and great artisan ales to try - 3 for £5.

The Beach House is a great little eating place to have within easy walking distance of the house. It does get very busy though, so booking at least a couple of weeks before you arrive is almost essential.

Great location with fab views. However, we aren't sure what all the fuss is about. The coffee isn't the best and our food was average in comparison to other places locally.

Overpriced and unfriendly staff. £90 for our group of two adults and two children - we each had a sandwich and one drink! Staff were abrupt with us and while we waited 45 minutes for our food we witnessed them being unfriendly to many other customers. Safe yourself the hassle and bring a picnic to this beautiful beach.

Visited on 17/08/2017 evening - we were told there would be a wait for food however it was much longer than initially mentioned - when our food came it was cold - we complained - the lady manager did apologise - and made us food to take away. Also not paying for the food. Appreciated that this was done - however they really need perhaps to look at capacity of food orders the kitchen can deal with.

Gorgeous place. Parking is reasonable and close to both beaches, providing easy access to SW Coastal Path. We visited early May so few other visitors around, just sat and soaked up the sun.

If your holiday is due to commence over 8 weeks away, you can opt to split your payments into three manageable equal chunks.

Nice pub with lovely views and good service. Quite a good varied menu. Good was acceptable but not outstanding for the money

Nestled between the cliffs in the undulating Devon landscape, Soar Mill Cove is something of a hidden gem, only really accessible on foot. The easiest way reach it by walking down from the Soar Mill Cove Hotel, where there is a car park, or if you’re making a day of your jaunt, why not stroll along the South West Coast Path from Bolberry or even from Salcombe? The beach is a mix of sand and stone and has seen a fair amount of weathering in storms in recent years, which has merely added to its character and charm. There are no facilities in the immediate vicinity unless you wander up to the hotel. Dogs are welcome throughout the year at Soar Mill Cove, and it’s definitely worth the effort to visit!

Feel this once must visit cove has gone backwards. The "pods" on the slopes of the Cottage Hotel seem completely out of character.

SUP Away, based in the heart of the South Hams in Devon, offers Stand Up Paddle Board hire to anyone looking to explore the beauty of the area on the water.  They offer the complete service – not only delivering your boards direct to your holiday cottage but also giving advice on where to go on your adventure.

Great location with fab views. However, we aren't sure what all the fuss is about. The coffee isn't the best and our food was average in comparison to other places locally.

Such friendly staff and coping really well with Covid rules. We just stopped by for a drink this year - such a lovely balcony to sit and watch the waves

Absolutely fantastic course and club. Warm welcome from everyone, the most amazing views and the best selection of ladies clothing i have ever seen in a UK pro shop.

It was time to go home so we had breakfast here, It was raining and windy. We had a long way to go so we needed to have something filling. We both had a Full Monty and it was filling and delicious all organic local produce. Go there try it !!

Fantastic unique place with sea both sides of the beach when the tide is out and Burgh Island to walk to with a lovely old pub but inefficient service.

A beautiful beach, soo close to our holiday accommodation we could go home for lunch. Just ass well because the beach cafe is overpriced and very average.

Beautiful beach with sand and rock pools. Canoes etc available to hire at reasonable prices and cafe with great food and drink

Whenever we are staying in Thurlestone we eat regularly here. The place is great and the food is above average and reasonable in cost. Equally, the staff are very friendly and helpful. I say this as my partner is disaabled and they always allow her to make a reservation near the door.

Lovely beach. Great catering facilities and clean, free lavatories. The car park is large and as a member of the National Trust parking was free (usually £6)

I remember this place as The Sun Bay Hotel. Wow, what a difference. My son treated me to a belated birthday lunch. The food was sublime served by a delightful young girl. We both adore fish and you did not disappoint. The view overlooking the beach on a beautiful sunny day could not have been better. Thank you. We shall definitely return.

Walked over from Thurlestone to this lovely setting, 2 beaches to sit on. Just check in advance what facilities are open as the bar we wanted to sit at was closed for the day but we did manage to sit inside at the other option but no tables outside due to being very busy

Had vsiited several times on previous holidays when staying in Outer Hope. Had lunch there outside on the balcony the day we arrived. Friendly staff, good choice of food and views of the sea. Made us feel that we had arrived back in Hope Cove again on holiday.

This pub has vastly improved sine the last time we came to Hope Cove much more friendly and food much better than previously!

Superb location with sea views from the upstairs dining room and terrace. A quality varied menu and the seafood was excellent.

The Cove is definitely the place to eat and drink in Hope Cove. The staff are wonderful and nothing is too much trouble. The food is amazing, especially the seafood which is so fresh and beautifully cooked. The menu is varied and there is something for everyone. Great position with an outside terrace with sea views, cushions and throws for the chilly evenings. Highly recommended.

A hotel restaurant with unbroken sea views specialising in locally caught fish and seafood as well as popular three course Sunday lunches.

Excellent restaurant, we ate here 4 times and each meal was delicious. The staff were brilliant, you can’t book but you don’t have long to wait for a table . Would certainly recommend a visit here.

A long stretch of sand broken only by the South Milton Ley freshwater reed bed, South Milton Sands is a dramatic beach that’s exposed to the elements, making it something of a chameleon throughout the year. Rugged in its beauty, there’s nothing quite like watching the sun set at this beach behind an iconic rock archway in the water; it really is spectacular, particularly if you do so over dinner in the summer months from The Beach Café, a small but perfectly formed restaurant and café that’s perched just above the sand. If you want a table inside then you really do have to book this one, but if the weather is fine then eating outside is a joy. The beach is sandy and popular on windy days with kite surfers and windsurfers, but in calmer weather is perfect for a summer swim. Dogs are welcome at South Milton throughout the year, there’s a National Trust car park by the beach which costs from £5 for the day, £3 after 4pm or is free for National Trust members. There are also toilets nearby. It’s also worth knowing that in the summer months lifeguards are in situ from 6th July until 8th September, keeping everyone safe in the sun, sea and sand. When the weather is less conducive to sitting and admiring the view, South Milton is perfectly placed for a stroll along the coast path either towards Hope Cove and around towards Salcombe if you fancy making a day of it, or in the opposite direction you can walk towards Bantham and Bigbury on Sea. It’s a wonderful place to explore and watch Devon’s wildlife in all its glory.

3 steps down from hallway to living area: Large lounge with corner sofa, chairs and Smart TV. Kitchen area with built in fridge/freezer, double oven, induction hob, dishwasher, microwave and coffee machine. Breakfast bar with 2 stools. Dining area to seat 10 people. Utility room with separate access to driveway, washing machine, tumble dryer and fridge. Wet room with shower area, WC and basin.

Hope Cove was lovely as ever. Sadly The Cove was closed the week we were there ( first week in September) and the Hope and Anchor closed on Tuesday and Wednesday! However the Village Inn at Thurleston was brilliant.

Yes. Well appointed, good quality furnishings and clean. Needed landline phone. Parking was a bit awkward we left car at top of drive.

We went for breakfast. It’s very small inside and was a tight squeeze for 7 of us but they had a neat clip-on seat for the baby, the service was prompt and efficient, and the food was delicious if a bit expensive. But then, all cafes and restaurants are expensive these days. Nice views. Plenty of seats outside.

Been going for years even if busy still a lovely holiday feeling. Great to see no rubbish on the beach and facilities for people to pick up rubbish. Fascinating for children - fish, rock pools, jelly fish etc. endless fun. Crowded when the tide comes in though.

Yes the young folk went to surf. Thoroughly enjoyed the time there. Access for older folk to cafe was ok but we couldn’t get down to the beach

Hope Cove is quite pretty but is very small. There are some lovely walks across the headland either way. There is not a "collection of shops and cafes" there is only one shop, a pub, a bar and a restaurant. The beaches are very small and when we were there busy despite being covered in seaweed.

Fantastic unique place with sea both sides of the beach when the tide is out and Burgh Island to walk to with a lovely old pub but inefficient service.

Always a favourite. Excellent staff and very good food. The best breakfasts and enjoyed an evening meal here this time. Feeding breakfasts for 14 of us was not a problem. Service with a smile.

Had a veggie burger one evening, was probably the best i've ever tasted, was very good indeed. Slightly bizarre rule about not being able to order pizza if sitting downstairs but otherwise was good.

It’s beautiful. Very pretty & peaceful. Lovely sitting watching the boats coming in & out , Bolbery Down & the coastal path to walk. The Anchor& Hope pub to have a drink & a meal. Next door is The Cove where can have a meal too. Two beaches and Lovely sea to swim in particularly the boat side.

Great to see the upstairs now open and thriving. Shelly, Toby and the team always give us a great welcome, and remember the kids names and (ice cream) preferences too, which is a much appreciated addition to the great food, service, sports n music nights. A must for us!!

Brilliant as always. Staff were obviously busy but polite and helpful. Bit of a limited menu outside and take away but understandable in current times. We look forward to our next visit with the Cove. Thank you

I love Soar Mill Cove. We used to go as a young family and stay in a house/cottage called Hamstone which I think isn't there any more. I had a lovely afternoon savoury tea at Soar Mill Cove Hotel. I had booked lunch there in advance and called to say I wouldn't make it from my hike in time and could I possibly have an afternoon tea instead. This was no problem for them and I was even a bit late. They were super friendly and accommodating and their cheese scones and coffee fabulous. Would love to stay there!

Supercool place but the photo here is way out of date and the extension and opening up of the top floor has encroached somewhat into the street which was pretty narrow to begin with. I'm a fan of the food and the beer which are both excellent: I'm not a fan of the non booking policy or of the very long waits for tables and food during busy periods. Like most of the South Hams its probably best visited out of high season.

Lovely little cove to visit, enjoyed flying kites here and had a lovely lunch in one of the pods at the Lobster Pod Bistro.

Really poor attitude shown by the lady serving us who was more interested in her printer not working than listening to our order. Also, £7.00 for two small paper cups of coffee is excessive. Much better value to be had in other local villages.

A very nice beach with quite a lot of sand at times. So easy to access, even managed to get both (octogenarian) parents to it and my mother in the sea for a paddle!

However this was a great house and we thoroughly enjoyed our time at Seabrook. Kitchen/living area was very well equipped and comfortable.

Nice walk to Hope Cove from Thurleston along the SW Coastal Path, less than 30 minutes. Cute little village with pub, cafe and tiny shop.

We read the reviews and looked forward to visiting. We were disappointed! We were on holiday in Hope Cove w/c 15/09/2018. Yes the staff are very friendly but we found the atmosphere in the pub cold. We were going to order food but the tables were tacky to touch and the place just didn’t smell clean. We decided to eat next door. Sorry because the view and beers are great.

Booked a meal here for my sisters birthday on July 4th. Welcome to restaurant was poor and service could have been better a little too hap hazard for a four star hotel. Food quality was not great. The crab starters were not chilled they were Arctic cold as were the plates this reduced the taste and flavour. They may have been frozen! I was pleased when the hotel rang to say they had sourced Lobster which shouldn't have been an issue as the local shops were full of them. Due to the cost we thought we would share one between the two us when it was served it was luke warm and again was tasteless was it fresh or frozen?? My husband had a well down done steak which was pretty poor with a very watery peppercorn sauce. Really! Perhaps the four star chef was on a night off? No mention of my sisters birthday despite reception making a note by the booking. £195 for the 3 of us and so not worth it. The Millbrook Inn, South Pool, Gara Rock, Salcombe, The Cricketers at Beesands all offer superior dining.

Lovely village with two beaches, one which is protected by a harbour wall and great for young children. Dogs welcome on Harbour beach year round.

Visited twice in the week. Food excellent as before. Staff charming, and so helpful. Terrible trouble with booking on line. Mentioned to John and hopefully they can get it sorted. Music far too loud, difficulty speaking to one another although sitting opposite.

Love hope cove very relaxing with two different beaches. Grab a coffee or fish and chips from the cove and enjoy The sunset on the beach .

Quaint Thurlestone with its choice of stunning beaches is just a short drive away or can be reached by foot by following the coast path to the west. Bantham and Salcombe are also nearby, and you won't have to venture far to take in the rest of the South Devon countryside.

Dorset is famous for its rolling countryside, pretty, thatched villages and 95 miles of breath-taking World Heritage Jurassic Coast. Where else can you follow in the footsteps of dinosaurs and search for fossils on the beach, walk along the South West Coast Path to a cosy country pub, kayak through iconic Durdle Door or live the life of luxury on the exclusive golden peninsula of Sandbanks?

The property is just perfect and we will probably return. The only downside was that the conservatory leaked water rendering it unusable for 3 of our 5 days. The caretaker told us that this is a regular occurrence

Very disappointed on every visit very under staffed we were told one evening could only order takeaway food at 7.00pm and we had a table outside and then stopped serving drinks at 8.00 then decided to give another visit and were obviously not supposed to have been given a table from conversation with staff at bar even though clearly tables available , nothing cleared from our table so ate our food with dirty glasses from last visitor and general area was very untidy food on floors. Didn't visit for rest of stay and wouldn't recommend

Very cosy, just wonderful service and great food - go! We had lobster, breakfast and coffee here (at different times!). All excellent.

Beautiful beach and we had the added bonus of the Rockbox pop up bar being directly behind. If you are staying in hope cove it is worth the 20 minute walk to get here as much better than the hope cove beaches, also has toilet facilities.

Our family of ten enjoyed a wonderful week at Seabrook. The property was spacious and well equipped with a generous parking area (which is rare in Hope Cove)

We ate here twice in a week. The food is fabulous and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. Very dog friendly too. Will definitely visit again.

We had lunch, drinks and dinner at this great hotel. The views are spectacular and the service is always second to none.

Central to the village and just steps from the beach, this is a warm and welcoming pub with characterful interiors and a spacious outside terrace.  Friendly staff serve hearty breakfasts, lunches and dinners using fresh local ingredients as well as a range of coffees, local ales and other drinks.

Very comfortable and peaceful property with lovely views of the Cove and countryside in a beautiful Village. There are great walks from the property.

This is the place to eat and drink in Hope Cove! Great atmosphere and the Seafood Platter is not to be missed! Can't wait to return!!

Really nice food and service so good. Would recommend it highly for food and the lovely views from the balcony for drinks.

Inspirational place. High green ethics so heartening to see. Innovative, fantastic staff, great food. Had 3 takeaway pizzas which were the best pizzas we had ever tasted. Lovely balcony upstairs with stunning views and great artisan ales to try - 3 for £5.

We had take away fish and chips from The Cove to celebrate my 40th birthday and the meal was fitting of the occasion. The fish was very fresh and tasty and the chips unbeatable. The service was speedy, very polite and helpful. Thank you!

Really friendly staff who are donating all their tips this month to charity. When you visit look up to read the jokes written on the beams. They may make you groan but you will have to smile if only at everybody's reactions.

Nice little coastal village but not a lot there really and spoilt by way too many holiday homes with very little full time community or interest. Lovely small beaches, safe for the youngsters but best avoided at peak times as it simply gets too crowded. Decent pub but they served us a cold meal so we didn't eat there again. Narrow road down to Hope Cove from the main A381 is a nightmare with the traffic using it, the impatience of some drivers not giving enough room and we had our car hit and damaged by some ignoramus builder in a transit who tried squeezing past our stationary car, whilst yelling obscenities from his window even though it was us who stopped when he ought to have reversed back a whole 5 yards. Charming. Expect these sorts of things if driving in and out each day as there's no other roads in and out other than single-track. Clifftop walk in either direction is stunning and it's well worth the walk towards Thurlestone until you reach South Milton Sands Beach which is simply lovely...a real cracker of a beach with lovely views and plenty of room. Beware the kite surfer school who think that they own the beach as they had the cheek to ask people to move as they were about to hold a class in the water near the rocks where lots of kids were rock pooling. They needed to be reminded that it was not their beach... From Hope Cove, the walk to Bolt Head was very pleasant and then on towards Salcombe. Hope Cove itself seems to have very little community atmosphere and no-wonder as it comprises 250 full time residents scattered between inner and outer Hope Cove and up to 5000 visitors staying in holiday homes. Practically the whole village is made up of holiday homes with the only industry being hotels and the pub, a few B&Bs and the odd fishing boat. Such a great shame as it seems to have no sense of "self" which you get with a living, thriving community but to be expected as our small fishing fleets are all but killed off. Still, a nice place for a short break.

Had a lovely evening meal. Very busy, but the staff were brilliant and hurried things up for us as we had young children with us.

Only visited for an excellent cream tea on the terrace and for a drink one evening on thet terrace to see the sunset. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Missed this pub being closed this year. Hopeful that it will be open in March 2021 when we re-visit the glorious Hope Cove again.

Beautiful location, lovely large sandy beach. If you go across to Burgh Island when the tide is out be warned the prices at Pilchard's Inn are extortionate!

We have visited Bigbury and Burgh Island over many years, and it never disappoints; the picturesque environment does much to enhance the holiday atmosphere, and meets the needs of a relaxed holiday. This year, we enjoyed the wonderful experience of cream tea and cocktails at the famous hotel at a very reasonable price; we booked in advance, were driven to the entrance via the hotel transport, and sea tractor back - perfect afternoon!

90 minute wait for lunch when we were the first people to order when the takeaway opened. Staff unable to tell you why there was a delay and the cost were exorbitant

Fantastic beach! The walks we had at low tide were amazing. Especially when we walked along the river looking over to Bantham.

Lovely little cove to visit, enjoyed flying kites here and had a lovely lunch in one of the pods at the Lobster Pod Bistro.

This place is currently closed, which severely limits the drinking and dining options, because everywhere else is so small for accommodating social distancing.

Sunday lunch is a must! the service was marvellous, food delicious, and the dessert trolley should probably be included as a designated feature of the AONB :-) Views are lovely too!

Just back from a week in Hope and visited The Cove every day either for coffee, a snack or a meal. Can’t fault it, great friendly, attentive staff. Covid friendly and rules adhered too by the letter. Fantastic food. Great vibe, great views and dog friendly. Highly recommend.

It was very busy but we didn’t mind waiting. The fish n chips were excellent. Staff friendly and helpful. Good safe practice was visible during difficult times of COVID-19 but we both felt safe.

Excellent food particularly the fish and chips. We only had take away. Friendly and speedy service. Staff coping really well especially as they were the only food establishment open when we stayed.

Great beach, lots of sand, dog friendly all year, lovely cove with really close parking (free if you are a National Trust Member), cafe/bar close by and toilets. Highly recommended beach to visit, access is via some very narrow lanes, so if you cannot reverse your car, don't attempt to visit!

Great food, amazing sardines really friendly staff ,coping with 1 -7 year olds tired and hungry from the beach ,this IS the place to go in Hope Cove!!

loved the food extremely helful in booking ( i`m an old biddy) seating inside for younger generations But I loved it!!

Entrance into porch with coat hooks, bench and hallway leading to: Master bedroom with super king size bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers and chair En suite shower room with walk in shower, WC, basin, heated towel rail. Bedroom 2 with king size bed, wardrobe and chair Family bathroom with bath and shower over, WC, basin and heated towel rail. Bedroom 3 with twin beds, wardrobe, chest of drawers and chair Bedroom 4 with bunk beds, chest of drawers and chair

Are here twice great food, daily fish of the day was lovely, we didn't book but the staff accommodated us and were lovely and chatty. Dogs made very welcome too

Bit nervous as it looked a bit young and trendy :-) but once in the door, we loved it. Relaxed atmosphere, great selection of beers, we had pizzas, delicious garlic bread and side salads. Lovely views, service good.

A beautiful family-run hotel restaurant and bar with sea views to die for, and friendly staff that make you feel instantly at home. Lounge on the terrace on sunny days with cocktail in hand and something delicious from the barbeque, or when it's chilly head inside to the sophisticated restaurant, have a drink at the bar or warm your toes with a cream tea by the log burner.  The menu is packed full of delicious local produce including lots of fish all cooked to perfection and accompanied by an impressive wine list. Open for lunch and dinner, children welcome and kids options available, booking essential.

We had a very warm welcome each time we went either for a meal or just for drinks. Food was very good and very quickly served.

We loved this local beach. Close to the Round House (along a narrow road but enough passing places to make it not too difficult!) and lots of parking (free for National Trust members). Fantastic rock pooling at low tide, and fun to swim through the arch. Easy to hire paddle boards/kayaks on the day and good facilities (cafe (albeit quite expensive)/loos). Nice walk to Hope Cove from here only took 20-30mins

Really nice, and ever so slightly quirky restuarant, brilliant take-away pizza's and main menu, some times hard to get in, go early or late! Breakfasts are good too. Staff really helpful.

unbelievably expensive now. even London friends thought it too much now. £80 for simple lunch of 4 sticks of asparagus for me and piece of fish for husband and 1 drink each. we will stick with a picnic from now on

This is a great place to eat with lovely fresh food. From the moment we arrived the staff were very engaging. Just a great experience all round.

Lovely place for some beautiful food. Seating inside has to be booked in advance as only 5 tables and on busy days prepare to have a wait but it just adds to the charm!

Excellent beach for all the family with dog friendly sections. Massive sandy beach when tide out. Cafe and toilets above beach. Paying for car park very difficult unless you have coins.

Yes we really enjoyed our stay and will be definitely booking again. The enclosed lawn was ideal for our golden retriever. Loved the view from the decking.

Absolutely stunning! We’ve visited here for the last 6 years and never got bored. The walk over Bolt Tail and the coastal path to Thurlstone are incredible. Can’t wait to return again next year.

Had a lovely lunch here. The staff were welcoming and gave great service. Simple menu but all prepared beautifully and definitely freshly cooked to order.

Great to see the upstairs is now open. Still retains the same great vibe, and the food and service are lovely. Highly recommended.

Great location and great food , it was very busy ,great atmosphere the staff were lovely and so helpful trying to ensure you managed to get a table . Also dog friendly which was a bonus when coming off the beach and having a drink on the Sun deck . We will be back .

The takeaway pizzas were very good. We were somewhat frustrated by not being able to have a drink on the terrace on Wednesday 8th September, due to an extended closure that week.

Great food, we had lunch there twice in the week we stayed. Wonderful fish, the crab fries are to die for. Compact inside but a great atmosphere. The staff are lovely.

They did very well considering first week open post lockdown and they were inundated. Delicious pizzas with great atmosphere right in the middle of Hope Cove. Thank you

Stayed in Hope Cove a number of times over the last couple of years and have always eaten at The Cove, Friendly service, great food and a fantastic selection of beers They have now created a balcony on the second floor. Looks great,

Great local pub when you are staying in Hope Cove. Really friendly and welcoming staff who are well presented and very helpful. Menu varied and all the food we ate, was very well cooked and tasty.

Hope Cove is a small, lovely, unspoilt village with spectacular walks along the coast path. The Cove cafe is a great stop off for a coffee with lovely sea views from the balcony.

Yes. Third time in this property. It probably needs better ..more robust. . footmats inside the doors for winter rents though.

Visited 16/06/18 for a week with Toad Hall Cottages. Lovely quiet location with a fabulous beach nice shops, a good pub and some good restaurants

Rather run down and disappointing that visitors are made to feel rather unwanted with only a small section of the pub open to non-residents and the hotel off limits completely to non-residents. View from the top lovely, but I wouldn't drive miles and miles to visit. What attracted me was the parting of the sea and that was a lovely view

Ate here a couple of times & had lots of sundowner drinks. Perfect location. Food lovely particularly the lobster. Drinks expensive but you are paying for the view. Not very covid compliant!

Really lovely sandy beach, perfect for young families as the water stays shallow and the dog can join you in certain areas too, so makes for an all round great day out!

We love this all year round very dog friendly beach. Great even when the tide in. Plenty of parking and a great cafe to boot.

Stayed in Hope Cove for a week and visited this cafe bar towards the end of the holiday. Found it to be excellent: friendly staff, quick service, and high quality food. Great fish and chips! If we had gone earlier in the week we would have visited again for sure. Rather busy, so visit early or booking table might be a good idea.

Have been visiting Hope Cove for many years. We always go in the winter when it is very quiet. Great beaches for dogs to run around and wonderful walks over the cliffs in both directions. Love both the Hope and Anchor and the Cove for food and drink.

Had a lovely evening meal here - food very fresh and delicious. A touch on the expensive side given the fairly basic eating arrangements. Service very good.

The cottage was lovely, very well kept and the enclosed garden was brilliant. We had an initial issue with the washing machine and the caretakers were very easy to get hold of and fixed it straight away. I would highly recommend this cottage and the service by Toad Hall Cottages generally.

Great to see the upstairs now open and thriving. Shelly, Toby and the team always give us a great welcome, and remember the kids names and (ice cream) preferences too, which is a much appreciated addition to the great food, service, sports n music nights. A must for us!!

Favourite place to eat and drink. Excellent food, staff are friendly and the atmosphere enhanced with candles and a log fire. The Seafood chowder is delightful and food is fresh and tasty. The other plus it's dog friendly. Worth a visit

This little cove was full of interest and activity. It was ideal for our sort of swimming but the water was quite cold. We noticed that the seawater was not being tested as usual but it seemed clean and clear.

A quiet sheltered cove where you could spend a sunny morning watching the blue sea. Coffee at the inn, then walk up the steps and down into Inner Hope to the old lifeboat station and the thatched cottages. There’s a small hotel, high above the road, with a terrace. The English Riviera

Perfect location. Excellent to walk across the tombolo and explore the island. Very safe for dogs. We visited on a very sunny day in April and were lucky to get a free parking spot right by the slipway. Views from the top are wonderful. Watching the waves meet from both directions is fascinating.

Hope Cove is a small, lovely, unspoilt village with spectacular walks along the coast path. The Cove cafe is a great stop off for a coffee with lovely sea views from the balcony.

Great beach for walking the dog - only part of the beach is restricted. Not overcrowded as we visited out of season and some lovely views in all directions.

The property is just perfect and we will probably return. The only downside was that the conservatory leaked water rendering it unusable for 3 of our 5 days. The caretaker told us that this is a regular occurrence

A beach style café bar with unbroken sea views and a great atmosphere, serving locally sourced meals along with coffees and over 30 craft beers, local cask ales and ciders.  Live music in the evenings.

Lovely village with two beaches, one which is protected by a harbour wall and great for young children. Dogs welcome on Harbour beach year round.

We booked one of the Lobster Pods on Sunday 30th December for lunch to find that there wasn't any Lobster on the menu..!! we wont be returning...

Superb location with sea views from the upstairs dining room and terrace. A quality varied menu and the seafood was excellent.

Very poor and rather rude service, had to wait 45 mins for two takeaway portions of chips while seated customers were served first.

Fabulous setting and great quirky place. However staff could be more welcoming. They seemed to be very abrupt. The food is lovely but extremely expensive for what you get. Just some small improvements and this place could be amazing but currently staff and price let it down.

Situated in the pretty seaside village of Hope Cove, Seabrook is a modern and sophisticated holiday house boasting luxurious accommodation for a large family or several groups of family and friends. The stylish interiors, spacious wrap around deck and indulgent hot tub will ensure a wonderful holiday with special memories. Seabrook sleeps 10 people in 5 chic bedrooms and 3 sleek bathrooms, along with a stunning living area perfect for entertaining and relaxing with your loved ones.

Nice enough beach. Car parking terrible. Asked to use an app but no signal. Having paid no ticket issued, was unsure if payment had registered and no proof provided. It was expensive given the problems.

Are here twice great food, daily fish of the day was lovely, we didn't book but the staff accommodated us and were lovely and chatty. Dogs made very welcome too

Ordered takeaway fish and chips for 5 on night of arrival. Quantities advised as 'generous', but weren't really. One had just 20 chips (& that included the tiny ones). Acknowledge difficult times for all, and so polite feedback provided in following days, so hopefully portions are improved for subsequent visitors. By comparison our final night Torcross Boat House f&c were far better in taste and quantity and perhaps Cove management should sample there. Other reviews are more favourable so hopefully this was a one off.

Lovely beach. Great catering facilities and clean, free lavatories. The car park is large and as a member of the National Trust parking was free (usually £6)

Staff rude !! We love the beach house have spent a fortune over the years they get away with murder ! Food good but overpriced !!

A holiday in Somerset never fails to leave a lasting impression. From the long sandy beaches of Minehead and Weston-Super-Mare, to the rugged wilderness of Exmoor, Somerset is filled with beautiful and diverse landscapes. Add to that the Roman city of Bath, Glastonbury Festival and plenty of Somerset cider, there's something to suit just about anyone.

A beautiful location, and just the right amount of facilities. The roads to Bigbury can sometimes be a challenge due to narrowness, but it's worth it when you get here.

Due to the rightful popularity of this place, for the first 4 days of our stay in Hope cove We had to drink outside due to not wanting food. Such is Covid restrictions. Our choice not the pubs. However last few days we ate and drank inside. Great food, beer and service. Roll on next year when we will return hopefully in more “ normal” times. ????????

It’s a proper old fashioned hotel which makes ever guest equally welcome and a wonderful nostalgic vibe. The food is delicious and check out the “map room “.

A small sandy beach belonging to Thurlestone Golf Club, those who have been on regular Devon weekend breaks and holidays will have seen this beach change somewhat in recent years thanks to storm damage, but the evolving landscape merely adds to its charm. A 200-metre walk down a paved path from the golf club and its car park and you find yourself heading down a gentle slope onto the sand, with the option of enjoying the beach in its own right or walking along the coast in either direction towards Bantham or South Milton Sands. Dogs are allowed here at any time, which of course adds to the appeal for walkers, and if you fancy stopping somewhere for lunch then Thurlestone village nearby is home to a charming pub that’s cryptically named The Village Inn, which is suitable for the whole family and wonderfully cosy in the winter months. Alternatively head to the Beachhouse café at South Milton for lunches and evenings meals with a view of the sunset, or cups of tea and brownies from the Gastrobus at Bantham. It is one of the area’s quieter beaches, often acting as a place to wander past rather than one to spend the whole day on, but given its easy access and the proximity of the car park, and the golf club, it’s a delightful little spot in which to while away the afternoon.

Been going for years even if busy still a lovely holiday feeling. Great to see no rubbish on the beach and facilities for people to pick up rubbish. Fascinating for children - fish, rock pools, jelly fish etc. endless fun. Crowded when the tide comes in though.

Beautiful unspoilt cove with great eateries, wonderful walks and also acts as a good base. We went to Kingsbridge, Bigbury and also the various farm shops (4 superb) all near Loddiswell. All perfect if you don’t mind country lanes and an unspoilt location.

If you're looking for a truly stunning location to have dinner then this is a must visit as it sits right on the beach with some amazing views when the weather is right. Food is pretty good, wine list short and not particularly inspiring. Prices a bit too high. Unfortunately the staff here all think they're 'it' and are way to busy sweeping their pony tails to one side to get the service right. The take away service is particularly poor with 30 - 45 minute waits and a £10 bill for 2 coffees and a brownie! On the night we ate their we were also asked to share a table despite booking nearly 5 months in advance. When you're spending £100+ on a romantic meal it's not quite what you expect.

Huge sandy beaches, ancient cathedral cities, lively market towns and old-fashioned seaside fun, all on the doorstep of the capital - a holiday in the East of England has so much to offer. In this historic corner of the country you can punt past Cambridge’s famous university, brave the waves of Norfolk and Suffolk's never-ending shores and marvel at the bright lights of the world’s longest pleasure pier in Southend-on-Sea in Essex.

Have been visiting Hope Cove for many years. We always go in the winter when it is very quiet. Great beaches for dogs to run around and wonderful walks over the cliffs in both directions. Love both the Hope and Anchor and the Cove for food and drink.

Lovely place. Child friendly with fantastic views. Only downside is the dogs that are allowed on. It can get very busy in high season and the dogs can be a pain if running loose especially if you have got little ones. We have got a dog so it's not because we aren't dog lovers!

Menu looked good but we never got to try it as the evening we went in the staff were stressed and busy and were disinterested in trying to accommodate us to the point of rudeness.

Lovely area to visit our grandchildren loved it for body boarding. It was safe for them and also had RNLI lifeguards present. A trip on the sea tractor was quite a highlight for them.

Fantastic beach café by day transforming into a romantic beach shack style seafood restaurant by night, and well worth a visit.  Booking is essential for the evenings when delicious seafood dishes are produced from a tiny kitchen.  A more limited menu as well as ice creams, coffees and snacks are available during the day.

Beautiful unspoilt location with rock pools and streams on the beach to explore. Rugged coastline walks and lovely views. Surrounding countryside is quiet and a joy to explore. Useful large car park at Hope Cove and two food and drink outlets right next door to each other, with contrasting interiors and exterior seating, good food and friendly atmosphere. Inner Hope worth exploring for the thatched cottages and the far reaches of Hope Cove. Note that the village shop has a very limited selection of foods - useful for 'the basics' only and ice-cream.

Was lovely to see the pub open again and it looks great! However, we were very disappointed and shocked to see that the outside upper seating area (next to the carpark) is shut off and is now residents only (people staying in the pub accommodation) !! It has lovely comfortable chairs with cushions and throws but while we were there we noticed it was hardly used!! This leaves a very small area to the front, next to the road, with no sea view, for everyone else!! We could see that the pub was short staffed and inside the area near the stairs and by the kitchen was shut several times. Over our two weeks The Cove was shut for four nights (2 nights per week) and this obviously made the pub extra busy. The staff were lovely and worked incredibly hard - the service was always excellent and the food was absolutely delicious. However, we encountered a very unpleasant holiday maker who obviously felt it was their right to jump the queue for a table and I fear that this will happen more and more if The pub and The Cove don’t get more staff - I do hope that they manage to.

Excellent beach, well maintained and dogs allowed all year round. Great range of activities to enjoy from swimming, snorkelling, SUP, kite surfing, kayaking and scrambling when the tide is out. Loved it and will return

Love hope cove very relaxing with two different beaches. Grab a coffee or fish and chips from the cove and enjoy The sunset on the beach .

Lovely place for some beautiful food. Seating inside has to be booked in advance as only 5 tables and on busy days prepare to have a wait but it just adds to the charm!

For those wanting to walk a stretch of the South West Coast Path, or explore the river valleys of southern Dartmoor, Hassle Free Hiking can help plan your itinerary, provide first-hand tips and walking notes, and drop you and your bags off to your start point, then pick you up at your destination to bring you back to your holiday cottage. A really useful service for non-circular walks, coupled with invaluable local knowledge.

Really nice, and ever so slightly quirky restuarant, brilliant take-away pizza's and main menu, some times hard to get in, go early or late! Breakfasts are good too. Staff really helpful.

Loved this beach we spent a lot of time here. Plus side - the car park machines don’t work and it was impossible to pay via the App. The parking attendant told us not to worry about trying! Minus - very smelly toilets.

Fabulous! Ate here several times. Specials board changes daily, with delicious locally sourced produce. Views from the balcony are beautiful. Very friendly service. Dogs welcome. Also do a take away menu.

Really friendly staff who are donating all their tips this month to charity. When you visit look up to read the jokes written on the beams. They may make you groan but you will have to smile if only at everybody's reactions.

This is a great place to eat with lovely fresh food. From the moment we arrived the staff were very engaging. Just a great experience all round.

I had a lovely very big meal here on my arrival evening. I find it a bit outdated though. A lot could be done to improve the decor to make it more modern and the staff could lose the penguin suits and just dress smart to make it less formal. That would attract younger people. It is very much for the Seniors! Also you have to pay for set courses. I just wanted a main which they did accommodate after I asked.

Fantastic friendly and accommodating staff and the most delicious freshly cooked seafood. Booked a table for lunch and could have sat there all afternoon with the most incredible views. Would definitely suggest booking as soon as you arrive as it was very popular. Will definitely come back

Great location for walking the coastal path. Two and half miles in either direction takes you to 3 further restaurants Oceana, The Village Inn and a beach cafe.

Really lovely sandy beach, perfect for young families as the water stays shallow and the dog can join you in certain areas too, so makes for an all round great day out!

It is fantastic to see you had such a good stay at this lovely property. Many thanks for your feedback regarding the heating instructions. We have passed these onto the owner for their consideration.

Very cosy, just wonderful service and great food - go! We had lobster, breakfast and coffee here (at different times!). All excellent.

We ordered 3 cream teas, for 3 adults and a toddler........ maybe we should have ordered 2 and shared, there was so much. The scones were amazing and the coffee was spot on. Do go inside to order tho as I stood at the hatch for 10mins and was ignored.

We are delighted to see you enjoyed your stay in Hope Cove. We really appreciate the feedback and will look into the points you have raised.

We had a meal in one of the pods which we thought was great. The weather wasn’t good but we still sit in the busy heated pod and see the view. Service was good and the food was really nice. Would definitely go again.

Went there for a meal for 4 adults and one child. Food was terrific the kiddies meal was devoured rapidly by the little one. Good price and very welcoming although rather chummy inside

A very nice beach with quite a lot of sand at times. So easy to access, even managed to get both (octogenarian) parents to it and my mother in the sea for a paddle!

We like this beach. We walk to it from the property we stay in in Thurlestone. It's always quiet. There are lovely views out to sea and you really feel close to nature when swimming. There is good sand, some rocks on either side of the beach, it's easy to access and we usually walk home along the coast path for more lovely views.

More holiday resort than working village. At present most eating establishmens are closed to visitors. None at all on Tuesday or Wednesday. Lovely setting and great walking.

We ate here twice . The location is walkable and the views can be good depending on your table. We did not need to book although it may be advisable to do so in high season or at weekends . It is standard pub fare of average quality. The staff are very helpful but the price of the alcohol is quite high in comparison with home. The menu is not that extensive particularly the desserts

We had take away fish and chips from The Cove to celebrate my 40th birthday and the meal was fitting of the occasion. The fish was very fresh and tasty and the chips unbeatable. The service was speedy, very polite and helpful. Thank you!

What a really stunning beach, well worth the trip round the estuary from Noss Mayo. Gorgeous sand and very dog friendly. Worth having a coffee at the Pilchard Inn on Burgh Island.

Food is amazing! Book in advance to get a table inside, it’s a special spot on a sunny day and the food really is amazing.

Nice little spot. Recommend you don't sit at their tables and let them take your order. Go to the takeout window. There is a "SERVICE CHARGE" if they "provide table service" for you. They don't tell you this when you order. Cost me £1.76 service charge to get two coffees and two pieces of cake

Very comfortable and peaceful property with lovely views of the Cove and countryside in a beautiful Village. There are great walks from the property.

We visited this restaurant once. It does not take bookings but operate on a first come first served basis. There is quite a lot on the menu but the prices are reasonable . The drinks menu is limited You can sit inside or outside. It was a cold evening so we sat inside . The inside is cosy and small and the room around the tables is cramped . The tables in the area we sat in were benches and not very comfortable. The food was good and nice and hot .We both had a fish special which was reasonably prices and delicious. The meal was the best we had locally taking into acount the price

Enjoyed Pizzas from the takeaway which were very tasty. The pizzas were ready within about 15 minutes so not a long wait. We had ordered one of the dips with our takeaway which was served in a pot with no lid, asked if there was a lid for the dip and advised there was not. This was a slight problem as we had to walk back to Inner Hope fortunately managed to tuck it into the container with the fries. Well organised with regard to Covid 19 regulations. Lovely balcony to sit and have a drink with views across the bay. Would definitely return.

What a really stunning beach, well worth the trip round the estuary from Noss Mayo. Gorgeous sand and very dog friendly. Worth having a coffee at the Pilchard Inn on Burgh Island.

Fabulous! Ate here several times. Specials board changes daily, with delicious locally sourced produce. Views from the balcony are beautiful. Very friendly service. Dogs welcome. Also do a take away menu.

Fantastic golf course with spectacular views and lovely friendly people working there. greens and fairways in excellent condition.

We loved this beach and returned a number of times during our stay. Safe shallow water for the family with some good waves for body-boarding as the tide came in and friendly life guards in attendance all day! Easy access from the car park - facilities nearby and dog friendly - everything we needed! We also enjoyed the cliff top walk to nearby hope cove on one afternoon.

Fantastic to be able to walk dogs down there. Nice cafe. Could do with dog poo bag bins on or near beach Car parking expensive just to be on beach for half an hour

We enjoyed our stay but found the main bed not great to soft but that is a matter of choice ,i think the quality of the mugs and some of the cooking containers poor for this quality of property. we stay in holiday cottages two to three times a year and have done for many years .

Perfect location. Excellent to walk across the tombolo and explore the island. Very safe for dogs. We visited on a very sunny day in April and were lucky to get a free parking spot right by the slipway. Views from the top are wonderful. Watching the waves meet from both directions is fascinating.

Enjoyed it very much the accommodation was nice, no complaints. We will probably return, the garden was fantastic for the dog.

Lovely cove, we loved to watch the tide coming in, and kept check of the low tide times to nip across the sand to the pub instead of going up and over the head

We ate at the Cottage Hotel Restaurant on one evening . The meal was at a set price . We paid £30 for two courses. and coffee/ tea. The staff were very helpful guided us through the meal and could not do enough for us despite the fact we were non residents . The approach to dining was slightly old fashioned but worked for us. The food was good and you got as many vegetables as you could eat in a sperate dish. It was quite a different experience to our visits at the other local eateries which we enjoyed it very much.

Beautiful unspoilt cove with great eateries, wonderful walks and also acts as a good base. We went to Kingsbridge, Bigbury and also the various farm shops (4 superb) all near Loddiswell. All perfect if you don’t mind country lanes and an unspoilt location.

Lovely location, but felt the prices were a little steep and the car park next to venue was also very expensive. Crab sandwich was expensive but enjoyed by my husband and I've never payed so much for a "quite average "sausage roll. Staff were friendly!

Great little beach cafe. It's snug inside but the food is delicious, highly recommend trying the local 'catch of the day'! Recommend that you book in advance to avoid disappointment.

Beautiful beach and we had the added bonus of the Rockbox pop up bar being directly behind. If you are staying in hope cove it is worth the 20 minute walk to get here as much better than the hope cove beaches, also has toilet facilities.

We visited whilst on holiday in Hope Cove several times. Staff always friendly and obliging . Menu catered for our mixed age range party.

Had a lovely evening meal. Very busy, but the staff were brilliant and hurried things up for us as we had young children with us.

Lovely bar/restaurant in the centre of Hope. Nice ambience. Nice beer too! We've been before and were more than happy to make a return visit. We also had excellent pizzas as a takeaway on our last evening. To be recommended.

We walked over from Hope Cove and found it a pretty unattractive beach with a massive pipe leading out to sea and a horrible sewage smell. Happy we hadn't bothered to go there for a day out!

Fabulous convergence of two tides and wonderful beaches. Beach Barista on the Bigbury side selling great coffee and ice cream. Beach shop very handy for topping up on beach gear.

We had pizza from the new Pizza kitchen, it was absolutley delicious. As were the nachos and skinny fries. Yummy. The staff are really helpful and friendly, the place has a fab vibe. We've been numerous times and its always great.

great beach only bad thing is its owned by the national trust and parking is £5.00 no matter how short or long you want to stay no option of paying by the hour

Nice little spot. Recommend you don't sit at their tables and let them take your order. Go to the takeout window. There is a "SERVICE CHARGE" if they "provide table service" for you. They don't tell you this when you order. Cost me £1.76 service charge to get two coffees and two pieces of cake

Excellent beach for small children. Very clean. The sea tractor gave it an added dimension. Our 2 year old granddaughter loved riding on it!

Seabrook is lovely, great location, five minutes from the beach, with comfortable furnishings in a light and bright building. The garden is a great size for a dog to run around (bearing in mind that many walks require dogs to be on a lead) and the terrace is a relaxing place to while away some time. We would definitely want to return.

This has been a hidden gem for many years with our children enjoying wonderful swimming and body boarding. I cant explain how disappointed I was to arrive in August 18 to find piles of seaweed but more importantly the damage caused by this years storms. There are rocks all over the beach where you would normally surf or swim. This has ruined a wonderful beach for the time being and will not be returning anytime soon.

When we asked our daughter how she would like to celebrate her 40 th birthday she chose our favourite family holiday place. Been here for many years. A perfect family beach holiday.

we stayed at seabrook last week. the property had everything there and was really comfortable. would highly recommend this to anyone. perfect for dogs aswell, as the garden is enclosed. we hope to return next year.

Our party of eight ate at the Hope and Anchor four times during our stay. We were always happy with the food but it would have been nice to have a bit more variety on the menu, especially some more fish dishes.

A really nice walk over the hill tops from Thurlestone, Hope Cove is pretty but a bit busier than other places we visited. Lovely views.

Despite the problems outlined above we had a wonderful stay, the accommodation is perfect for family get aways and the location is excellent. What a shame these few issues cannot be resolved.

Excellent seafood, though it books up well in advance. Phone before you arrive - a month in advance in high summer. Sadly they are no longer able to provide takeaways from the menu (pressure from the NT) but offer sandwiches and chips from a window.

Nice enough beach. Car parking terrible. Asked to use an app but no signal. Having paid no ticket issued, was unsure if payment had registered and no proof provided. It was expensive given the problems.

Bit nervous as it looked a bit young and trendy :-) but once in the door, we loved it. Relaxed atmosphere, great selection of beers, we had pizzas, delicious garlic bread and side salads. Lovely views, service good.

Hope Cove was lovely as ever. Sadly The Cove was closed the week we were there ( first week in September) and the Hope and Anchor closed on Tuesday and Wednesday! However the Village Inn at Thurleston was brilliant.

Fabulous setting and great quirky place. However staff could be more welcoming. They seemed to be very abrupt. The food is lovely but extremely expensive for what you get. Just some small improvements and this place could be amazing but currently staff and price let it down.

On the coast with spectacular views of the sea, Thurlestone Golf Club can be seen from the beach and is fortunate enough to be on a beautiful section of the South West Coast Path. The 18-hole course is a mix of links and cliff top terrain and aims to cater to all ages and abilities with a variety of tees. All visitors are welcome and will be pleased to know that there are two bars on site as well as a separate dining room. Green fees vary according to the season but start at £36 per person in the low season. As with most golf courses, there is a dress code so golf shoes must be worn and denim isn’t allowed, but a full list or restrictions are listed on their main website.

Great, speedy service and super friendly , helpful staff. Really appreciated the little extra touches making dogs so welcome too ! Thank you

A great place for lunch on the outdoor terrace, overlooking the sea. We had a fish finger roll (freshly made goujon) and hake & chips, both of us had beautiful fish, really fresh and chunky. Reasonably priced and quick efficient service, despite it being a busy lunchtime.

Absolutely stunning! We’ve visited here for the last 6 years and never got bored. The walk over Bolt Tail and the coastal path to Thurlstone are incredible. Can’t wait to return again next year.

Every time we visit hope cove,we come here. The food is 5 star, had seabass and mackerel on 2 separate visits.taste amazing. The service from the staff, both on food and bar was first class, nothing was to much trouble, also rattleys cider is on draught, just perfect.

Amazin beach - especially when the tide goes out and all the rock pools come out to play!!! Shame about the coarse 'sand', but that can't be helped; just get some shingle shoes. If you want sand go to North Sands or Bantham!

Just back from a week in Hope and visited The Cove every day either for coffee, a snack or a meal. Can’t fault it, great friendly, attentive staff. Covid friendly and rules adhered too by the letter. Fantastic food. Great vibe, great views and dog friendly. Highly recommend.

With the longest stretch of continuous coastline in the country and over 300 beautiful beaches to choose from, it's no surprise that Cornwall is such a popular holiday destination. Here, you can explore white-washed fishing villages, catch a wave on one of the UK's best surfing beaches, discover the myths and legends of Bodmin Moor, visit one of the many art galleries and indulge in Cornwall's flourishing foodie scene.

It won’t come as a surprise to anyone who has visited that Bigbury on Sea is located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Perfect for sand castles and rock pooling as well as tucking into lengthy summer picnics, it is an unusual beach to visit because the tide comes in from both sides. As a result, it is an endless source of fascination for children, not least for its sea tractor which provides transport from one end of the beach to the other in order to reach Burgh Island. Burgh Island is connected to mainland England by the beach alone, it’s home to the famous art deco Burgh Island Hotel which has hosted Agatha Christie and Noel Coward since its incarnation in 1929, and has even made an appearance in the TV adaptation of Christie’s Poirot. On a practical note there is on-site parking available close to the beach with daily charges from £3.50. Toilets and shower facilities with disabled access are also nearby, and lifeguards are present from May to September. The Venus café offers teas, coffees and other refreshments including the ice creams that are of such fundamental importance for a day at the beach. Meanwhile, dog lovers will be pleased to know that four legged friends are welcome at Bigbury on Sea, but restrictions apply from 1st May until 30th September. Ultimately, Bigbury on Sea is a supremely beautiful location and fun family day out with abundant wildlife to enjoy and coastal footpaths to explore as well, making it a wonderful destination to visit on holiday in Devon, no matter what time of the year it is.

Great atmosphere and food. Can be very busy in summer but perfect in winter. Great to sit with a hot drink and watch stormy seas.

Shelley and Toby continue to deliver a great atmosphere, a warm welcome and great & wide selection of locally sourced food and drink. See you again soon!

Plenty of room and helpful staff, although lacks a bit of atmosphere in my opinion. My partner loved his fish and chips however I had the seafood curry and although it was very tasty with a Thai style sauce the quality of the seafood let it down. The mussels were tiny and vastly inferior to others I had eaten that week. There is quite a lot of very good food in the area and although my other half was happy, I wouldn't rush back.

Food, location and view were perfect. Due to Covid there was more waiting for availability than usual but the staff were great; friendly, attentive and dealing with the tricky situation really well. Takeaways were a perfect option.

We had pizza from the new Pizza kitchen, it was absolutley delicious. As were the nachos and skinny fries. Yummy. The staff are really helpful and friendly, the place has a fab vibe. We've been numerous times and its always great.

Nice pub with lovely views and good service. Quite a good varied menu. Good was acceptable but not outstanding for the money

Great food, amazing sardines really friendly staff ,coping with 1 -7 year olds tired and hungry from the beach ,this IS the place to go in Hope Cove!!

Went there for a meal for 4 adults and one child. Food was terrific the kiddies meal was devoured rapidly by the little one. Good price and very welcoming although rather chummy inside

Large wrap around terrace with sun loungers, relaxed seating and table to seat 8. Hot tub located on the deck with seats for 5 people. Please note: The Hot tub is available from Easter until the end of October.

Visited 16/06/18 for a week with Toad Hall Cottages. Lovely quiet location with a fabulous beach nice shops, a good pub and some good restaurants

Stunning cove with plenty of parking and restaurants for food and drinks. A lovely place! The clear water and gorgeous scenery made this a little paradise.

Shelley and Toby continue to deliver a great atmosphere, a warm welcome and great & wide selection of locally sourced food and drink. See you again soon!

Me and my partner arrived home from our week holiday at this property yesterday. I have to say Shippen Cottage in Hope Cove is the best place I’ve been too and was the best holiday I have had. The cottage was clean, had everything you would need to enjoy your stay. The log burner made it so cosy in the evenings. The cottage is a few steps away from the beach which was great. We got to watch the sunset over the sea every night which was magical! I managed to get lots of great photos. The back garden area is great to have your dinner whilst looking out onto the beach. So glad we found this cottage and we really look forward to returning.

We weren't very impressed with our meal here... Overcooked fish and steak, undercooked peas and service could've been better.

Closed the week we were there in early September which was a disappointment. However we had the most delicious pizzas there back in April.

Our first visit to Hope Cove and seven night stay at Surf View. Our first impression of Hope Cove exceeded our expectations, unfortunately approaching and entering Surf View was very disappointing. Shabby and not in a chic way. The exterior of the property felt unloved, unkempt flower pots, broken doorbell, and a general lack of upkeep. On entering still very disappointing. The paint work and walls throughout apart from the attic en-suite bedroom are marked, dirty in places and in need of attention. The kitchen wall beside the dishwasher being particularly dirty and badly stained, very off putting. However the kitchen units and appliances were clean and overall good. The grouting in the main bathroom needs attention and felt grubby. In the lounge area tatty placemats, a tie back missing from one pair of curtains. Seem minor points but all add to the presentation of this holiday let.The outside terrace again felt lacking of what could be a more inviting space although with table and chairs provided a sunny spot to sit.The best room in the house is the attic en-suite bedroom which had a fresher, cleaner feel. Furniture met the requirements. The shower albeit not powerful did the job and provided hot water most of the time. The property however is well equipped. Just a niggle;- why a 2 slice toaster which caters potentially for 6 people? A slow breakfast process. The owners have left excellent instructions for use of appliances etc and everything seemed to be working well. The parking can be a little tricky even for just the one car allowed We arrived August Bank Holiday and involved blocking in a car in the allocated area as 3 cars already there at 5pm. A busy day in Hope Cove and no street parking was available until night time. Was ok in the end just needed cooperatIon and understanding. Also not having to use the car from arrival to departure was an advantage. The house was cleaned to a good standard and the extra measures towards COVID-19 Toad Hall are taking are excellent. We took extra precautions throughout the week ensuring surfaces, handles, switches etc were constantly well sanitised. The house is in a lovely location, close to the beach and access to great walks with spectacular views. Surf View provides the basic needs of a holiday stay in Hope Cove especially when accompanied by four legged friends. Wish the negatives were less and the positives more but review Surf View as experienced. We enjoyed a lovely quiet holiday in Hope Cove and the surrounding area but left Surf View wishing we felt less disappointed and could review more positively.

We really liked Hope Cove with the exception of what appears to be a sewage outlet on the smaller beach (inner cover i think). so avoiding that part the outer cove and rockpools on the beach between the 2 were great to explore when the tide was out. restaurant at hope cover was great food, great service, we applaud their efforts during the corona malarky. and the little shop is well stocked with all seaside things you need. including hoodies of all sizes if its a bit nippy.

Fantastic place, great rooms with a stunning location. The owners and their staff are attentive and do everything in their power to make the visit, whether it is just for a drink or a stay over to make your visit memorable. My parents stayed there for 10 nights (as they have done for the last 22 years) and we joined them for cream teas, lunch and dinners, all great and will continue to return

The Hope and Anchor is good for pub food very convenient as it’s in walking distance of Inner Hope being dog friendly is important to us. The staff are efficient, friendly and welcoming.

Favourite place to eat and drink. Excellent food, staff are friendly and the atmosphere enhanced with candles and a log fire. The Seafood chowder is delightful and food is fresh and tasty. The other plus it's dog friendly. Worth a visit

Menu not great, and expensive, one of the meals wasn’t what was stated on the menu and definitely wasn’t worth the money. Nice looking place with lovely views.

Absolutely beautiful. Great place to swim. Welcomes dogs but there are restrictions IE to be kept on leads but this doesn't impact on the enjoyment of being at this special place. Several places to get takeaway food if you forget a picnic. Free public toilets but welcome a donation to RNLI.

Very friendly and efficient staff who made us feel welcome with the dog. The food was served very quickly and was very tasty!

We had a fantastic dinner here (pre-booking weeks in advance is essential). The food and ambience are superb. It is expensive, but as a 'once in a holiday' treat it is, in our view, well worth the expense!

Great local pub when you are staying in Hope Cove. Really friendly and welcoming staff who are well presented and very helpful. Menu varied and all the food we ate, was very well cooked and tasty.

Great to see the upstairs is now open. Still retains the same great vibe, and the food and service are lovely. Highly recommended.

South Milton sands is a beautiful beach. Arrive early to get a good parking space as it does get quite busy. The beach is sand and shingle. £5 per day for parking, great value. The only shame is that there were too many paddle boards getting in the way of swimmers. Maybe a cordened off area for swimmers would be better.

Previously loved this place but the restaurant was under staffed following half term/jubilee and as a result service was really poor

Enjoyed it very much the accommodation was nice, no complaints. We will probably return, the garden was fantastic for the dog.

Excellent place to stay. This was our second time. Great property and location. The only negative was the heating. Couldn't work out how electric heaters worked and no instructions. Eventually got two working. Other than that, a great holiday.

Hope Cove is the perfect name for this inspiringly beautiful little corner of the South Hams. Divided into two areas, Inner Hope and Outer Hope, both linked by a footpath and road, and each with their own respective beaches, Outer Hope is also home to the Hope and Anchor Pub and a collection of shops and cafes, while Inner Hope is a quieter more residential area. At Outer Hope you will find Mouthwell Sands, a sandy cove scattered with pebbles and backed by rocky cliffs with a slipway and steps from the road down to the beach. It’s a popular spot with surfers, despite being a fairly small beach, and watching the sunset from here is a beautiful way to spend the evening. There is a car park by the beach where charges apply so make sure you have cash on you as you arrive, and dogs are permitted out of season with restrictions applying from 1st May until 30th September. Meanwhile, Harbour Beach is a short stroll away and bridges the two villages of Inner and Outer Hope. It is a wide sandy beach that’s perfect for rock pooling and sand castle building, and there is a harbour wall that makes for spectacular crashing waves in the winter as well as a tempting spot from which to jump into the water in the summer at high tide. Just make sure you don’t jump in when the water is low as it’s too shallow. Harbour Beach is also an ideal spot from which to paddle board or kayak across the bay, with the really intrepid amongst us pottering all the way along the coast to Thurlestone and Burgh Island. Finally, at Inner Hope itself there is a small sandy beach that’s accessible down a slipway. This is home to the old lifeboat station and is a quiet spot that marks a juncture along the coast path from Bolberry. Speaking of which, you can walk either way along the coast from Hope Cove, either towards South Milton Sands, Thurlestone and Bantham, or towards Salcombe. If you are making a day of it then why not start at the Winking Prawn at North Sands and stop at Hope Cove for lunch?

However this was a great house and we thoroughly enjoyed our time at Seabrook. Kitchen/living area was very well equipped and comfortable.

Thank you THC for another great property and another stress free relaxing stay in superb south devon.Fair play you guys do a great job. Looking forward to our next booking.....which will be very soon.

Great location for walking the coastal path. Two and half miles in either direction takes you to 3 further restaurants Oceana, The Village Inn and a beach cafe.

We visited the Hope and Anchor several times during our week's holiday either for food or just drinks and each time we were made very welcome and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Excellent beach, well maintained and dogs allowed all year round. Great range of activities to enjoy from swimming, snorkelling, SUP, kite surfing, kayaking and scrambling when the tide is out. Loved it and will return

Friendly and helpful service during busy and challenging times due to shortage of staff. Meals delicious and perfect setting even in the rain

Hope Cove is one of our most popular and sought-after destinations. A quaint old fishing village sat in picture postcard surroundings, it is home to some of the finest coastal holiday cottages in Devon. Hope Cove is the perfect location for those wanting a traditional British seaside holiday in a stunning, natural setting. Formed around the twin villages of Inner and Outer Hope, the cove benefits from two golden sandy beaches, and an abundance of rock pools for the kids to potter about in, looking for signs of marine life. The beach at Inner Hope often offers perfect conditions for safe body boarding. Hope Cove is home to the Hope and Anchor pub and The Cove, an uber-cool café bar that serves late breakfasts and sunset suppers just a stone's throw from the scenic beach. The Hope Cove Gallery exhibits wonderful local art and crafts, and is a great place to pick up a souvenir or just have a lazy browse to escape the summer sun. Alternatively, treat yourself to an ice-cream, find a quiet bench and watch the waves gently roll into the bay. The adventurous might be inclined to set forth in search of little-known Beacon Beach, where they are likely to find themselves alone with only the gulls for company, while walkers can take the coast path east towards Bolberry and beyond, or west to South Milton Sands for a swim followed by a meal at the fabulous Beach House. Quaint Thurlestone with its choice of stunning beaches is just a short drive away or can be reached by foot by following the coast path to the west. Bantham and Salcombe are also nearby, and you won't have to venture far to take in the rest of the South Devon countryside. A holiday cottage in Hope Cove is the ideal choice for anyone looking for a memorable holiday on the Devon coast.

A beach style café bar with unbroken sea views and a great atmosphere, serving locally sourced meals along with coffees and over 30 craft beers, local cask ales and ciders.  Live music in the evenings.

Very good but pricey and not the best service. No kids menu at breakfast, they expect children to have a £9 fry up which isn't great for our 6 and 8-year-old. We also asked for poached eggs rather than fried and they didn't do this.

Food, location and view were perfect. Due to Covid there was more waiting for availability than usual but the staff were great; friendly, attentive and dealing with the tricky situation really well. Takeaways were a perfect option.

Yes. Third time in this property. It probably needs better ..more robust. . footmats inside the doors for winter rents though.

Hope Cove is lovely, we ate at the Hope and Anchor pub, which has excellent food. The staff were really helpful so would highly recommend a meal there. From Hope Cove we walked to South Milton beach which is a lovely coastal walk

Had a lovely meal here for our last night in Hope Cove. Myself and my daughter had the seafood platter to share.. wow..there was loads on there and so tasty! Worth the money!

Overpriced, small portions and timing of food service slow and fractured. Dont supply you with a receipt for food and got order wrong. Food good.

Beautiful location, lovely large sandy beach. If you go across to Burgh Island when the tide is out be warned the prices at Pilchard's Inn are extortionate!

Had a lovely evening meal here - food very fresh and delicious. A touch on the expensive side given the fairly basic eating arrangements. Service very good.

Gorgeous beach - very large and areas suitable for dogs. Check tides before you go. Walk over to Burgh island is great. Good toilets and shop - very clean.

Great breakfast and coffees. Wasn't sure about the plastic pint glasses for water though and the tables were very sticky

Didn’t have any food but drinks on the balcony is an absolute must with stunning views of the beach and village. The climb up the hill looks worse than it is and well worth it. Great prices for drinks for a hotel. The Lobster Pod which I think is part of the hotel is a must and the food is amazing with great views from the pods

DMM users in Japan can only send gifts to DMM Japanese players;; This gifting method is not available if the receiving account has been created via Steam and ...

We booked one of the Lobster Pods on Sunday 30th December for lunch to find that there wasn't any Lobster on the menu..!! we wont be returning...

Our cooker/grill didn’t work after Saturday until the following Wednesday when Charlotte go the electrician. We the had an oven but no grill. As a couple we managed but would have proved more difficult for a family relying on self catering.

Absolutely love this place! Perfect for families, safe swimming and and lots of rock pools to explore. Our kids were down there every day. Can't wait to come back next year. Mrs Sutton

We enjoyed our stay at Seabrook, The light and spacious accommodation was much appreciated as our two sons came to stay for a couple of days. The garden and location were convenient and we liked the views.

Great pub! Massive improvement on the last time we came before the renovation. On sunny days we say out on the balcony looking out to sea, then when it rained we cosied up inside. The place is huge and the food was really good too. We ended up in there almost every day!

Excellent food particularly the fish and chips. We only had take away. Friendly and speedy service. Staff coping really well especially as they were the only food establishment open when we stayed.

One of our favourites, good food and service yet again and now they have Vegan options as well for our guests. The chips are excellent, small chunky or sweet potato !

My fish was very under cooked. The others in our party were satisfied with their food. We thought it was expensive. The servers were very helpful. Go early if you want a seat as it gets very crowded.

This place is currently closed, which severely limits the drinking and dining options, because everywhere else is so small for accommodating social distancing.

Missed lunch services but had late afternoon drinks outside. Staff were excellent and extremely welcoming. Looking forward to going again.

Had a veggie burger one evening, was probably the best i've ever tasted, was very good indeed. Slightly bizarre rule about not being able to order pizza if sitting downstairs but otherwise was good.

We enjoyed our morning coffee here most days, sitting on the top verandah, overlooking the sea. Very friendly happy staff who made you feel welcome instantly. Great quirky interior - you need to see it! Open all day and evening with lots of local beers on offer, along with the local gin from Salcombe. Plenty of food choices on the menu. Worth a visit.

A great place for lunch on the outdoor terrace, overlooking the sea. We had a fish finger roll (freshly made goujon) and hake & chips, both of us had beautiful fish, really fresh and chunky. Reasonably priced and quick efficient service, despite it being a busy lunchtime.

Staff rude !! We love the beach house have spent a fortune over the years they get away with murder ! Food good but overpriced !!

My fish was very under cooked. The others in our party were satisfied with their food. We thought it was expensive. The servers were very helpful. Go early if you want a seat as it gets very crowded.

We ate Sunday lunch here during our stay and can honestly say it was the best meal we had during the week. The food was absolutely delicious, and was contemporary in style. Charred leeks and garlic and chilli clams for entree, then lamb loin with chickpeas, soured cream and pomegranate and Dover sole with buerre noisette for mains was amazing. The weather as nice enough to eat outside and the view was great. Staff were very friendly, helpful, professional and polite. Would definitely recommend visiting if you are in the area.

Inner Hope is the best part and the village is very nice with many thatched cottages. The Sun Bay Hotel is very good and does excellent cream teas on its balcony overlooking the sea.

What a delightful surprising find ! Food and wine selection amazing for a beach side bar , staff friendly and will recommend but ideally would like to keep this place a secret !!

Gorgeous beach - very large and areas suitable for dogs. Check tides before you go. Walk over to Burgh island is great. Good toilets and shop - very clean.

The first payment is due at the time of booking to secure your stay, and the final payment must be made 6 weeks before your holiday starts, with the second installment handily helping you spread the cost halfway between the two.

great beach only bad thing is its owned by the national trust and parking is £5.00 no matter how short or long you want to stay no option of paying by the hour

Hope Cove is a family friendly village with two sandy beaches (1 allowed with dogs all year), several restaurants and located on the South West Coast Path, providing everything you need for adventuring or resting.  The South Hams towns of Kingsbridge and Salcombe are just a short drive away with lovely walks, boutique shops, children’s activities and much more.

Amazin beach - especially when the tide goes out and all the rock pools come out to play!!! Shame about the coarse 'sand', but that can't be helped; just get some shingle shoes. If you want sand go to North Sands or Bantham!

We had a very warm welcome each time we went either for a meal or just for drinks. Food was very good and very quickly served.

A glorious beach! Dog friendly, sandy, rock pools at the far end. Parking handy, spectacular views - the stone arch beats Durdle Door in my mind..... Delightful. Loved it.

Fabulous convergence of two tides and wonderful beaches. Beach Barista on the Bigbury side selling great coffee and ice cream. Beach shop very handy for topping up on beach gear.

Stayed in Hope Cove a number of times over the last couple of years and have always eaten at The Cove, Friendly service, great food and a fantastic selection of beers They have now created a balcony on the second floor. Looks great,

Great pub with amazing food- fishfinger bun and chips delicious and lots of other more grown up fish dishes to choose from. Happy, fun staff and super atmosphere. Nicely buzzing every time we went there . Ping pong table ,too !

Ate here a couple of times & had lots of sundowner drinks. Perfect location. Food lovely particularly the lobster. Drinks expensive but you are paying for the view. Not very covid compliant!

Great Cove. Fab location. Unfortunately the one cove had a lot of seaweed washed in due to the windy and stormy weather over our first weekend, but that can't be helped. But it meant we only went to the beach there once.

Lovely cottage. 3rd time we've stayed. We love it, will be back. We left a note to say the linen bags for covid reasons were not there. No green bags for rubbish. No issue for us just highlighting

We had an excellent two course dinner here, beautifully cooked and served, and generous portions Pleasant, attentive, efficient and cheerful staff. Lovely dining room with gorgeous view and comfortable lounge for coffee.

Missed lunch services but had late afternoon drinks outside. Staff were excellent and extremely welcoming. Looking forward to going again.

Our family of ten enjoyed a wonderful week at Seabrook. The property was spacious and well equipped with a generous parking area (which is rare in Hope Cove)

Great pub with amazing food- fishfinger bun and chips delicious and lots of other more grown up fish dishes to choose from. Happy, fun staff and super atmosphere. Nicely buzzing every time we went there . Ping pong table ,too !

The Cove Seems very popular. If you want takeaway be prepared to wait outside for a hour while they attend to in dining. Overstretched at times causing fractious staff. Don’t think I would return personally

We had a great meal here on a lovely evening. The chef clearly enjoys his work and it was a really fun atmosphere with great food. Note that you need to book well ahead if you want a table in the evening in the summer time, and also that - in keeping with the beach house atmosphere - you may share a table with other diners.

Great location for getting into the sea. Largely weed free, clean and no jelly fish when we were there. Bit weedier after the strong winds during the last half of the week

Really poor attitude shown by the lady serving us who was more interested in her printer not working than listening to our order. Also, £7.00 for two small paper cups of coffee is excessive. Much better value to be had in other local villages.

we stayed at seabrook last week. the property had everything there and was really comfortable. would highly recommend this to anyone. perfect for dogs aswell, as the garden is enclosed. we hope to return next year.

When we asked our daughter how she would like to celebrate her 40 th birthday she chose our favourite family holiday place. Been here for many years. A perfect family beach holiday.

Great beach for dog lovers, 20 min walk from our property, we went there every day. Great watching the tides in and out and managed to go on the sea tractor

We ate in The Hope and Anchor twice during our stay near Hope Cove. The food on both occasions (evenings) was very good and all the staff very polite and helpful. There was a good choice on the menu which changed with specials being added. Would recommend booking as it is very popular.

Friendly , beautiful - everything you could want in a holiday spot - didn't matter what the weather was like ,plenty to do and see .

We went to the Beachouse for a wedding party. The staff were fantastic and the food was delicious. A spectacular location!!

Had vsiited several times on previous holidays when staying in Outer Hope. Had lunch there outside on the balcony the day we arrived. Friendly staff, good choice of food and views of the sea. Made us feel that we had arrived back in Hope Cove again on holiday.

Hope Cove is lovely, we ate at the Hope and Anchor pub, which has excellent food. The staff were really helpful so would highly recommend a meal there. From Hope Cove we walked to South Milton beach which is a lovely coastal walk

We stayed in Hope Cove last week and had a lovely stay. I can only have gluten free food and it can be very difficult to find somewhere that offers it. Much to my delight, we saw that you offered gluten free pizzas. The pizza was delicious and the service was great and quick! Would deffo recommend.

Gorgeous place. Parking is reasonable and close to both beaches, providing easy access to SW Coastal Path. We visited early May so few other visitors around, just sat and soaked up the sun.

Yes. Well appointed, good quality furnishings and clean. Needed landline phone. Parking was a bit awkward we left car at top of drive.

Nice walk to Hope Cove from Thurleston along the SW Coastal Path, less than 30 minutes. Cute little village with pub, cafe and tiny shop.

It is fantastic to see you had such a good stay at this lovely property. Many thanks for your feedback regarding the heating instructions. We have passed these onto the owner for their consideration.

For the second time, we enjoyed an excellent Sunday lunch. The restaurant was much busier this time but the staff were still all very attentive and very kind to the children. The view out over the cove is lovely.

One of our favourites, good food and service yet again and now they have Vegan options as well for our guests. The chips are excellent, small chunky or sweet potato !

Love the new management in situ - the pub has improved 10 fold! The managers and servers are outstanding - nothing too much trouble. Great to have the pub in great hands

Excellent restaurant, we ate here 4 times and each meal was delicious. The staff were brilliant, you can’t book but you don’t have long to wait for a table . Would certainly recommend a visit here.

Lovely beach. Great for dogs too. The car park is owned by national trust and if you don’t have any money for the parking you need to download the app. Problem there is no signal once you are there to pay for your parking! Best bring change.

Fabulous place. I love it here. They are very friendly and welcoming and there was no strict booking procedure. I rocked up and had a delicious pizza on their terrace!

like most hospitality venues, the pub is short staffed which impacts on the service provided. food is average and prices are comparable to other venues in the area.

Food is amazing! Book in advance to get a table inside, it’s a special spot on a sunny day and the food really is amazing.

Great location and quality food. A little pricey though but always busy. Book well in advance if you want to eat inside on an evening. The fish finger sandwich is the best ever!!

Amazing beach and in our opinion the best in the area. Great cafe and surf shop where we hired SUPs. Visited most days and was always impressed. Visit in the evening for a beautiful sunset too. Walking over to the island and exploring there is also worth it.

Great atmosphere and food. Can be very busy in summer but perfect in winter. Great to sit with a hot drink and watch stormy seas.

Excellent beach for small children. Very clean. The sea tractor gave it an added dimension. Our 2 year old granddaughter loved riding on it!

Great beach for dog lovers, 20 min walk from our property, we went there every day. Great watching the tides in and out and managed to go on the sea tractor

Thank you THC for another great property and another stress free relaxing stay in superb south devon.Fair play you guys do a great job. Looking forward to our next booking.....which will be very soon.

Fantastic friendly and accommodating staff and the most delicious freshly cooked seafood. Booked a table for lunch and could have sat there all afternoon with the most incredible views. Would definitely suggest booking as soon as you arrive as it was very popular. Will definitely come back

We went to the Beachouse for a wedding party. The staff were fantastic and the food was delicious. A spectacular location!!

Lovely cottage. 3rd time we've stayed. We love it, will be back. We left a note to say the linen bags for covid reasons were not there. No green bags for rubbish. No issue for us just highlighting

Have liked this pub for years.Don't know if this relates to Brexit or the pandemic but find the new menu rather less to our liking than the old ones full of pub favourites.Perhaps we are too old fashioned! Also miss tables directly outside, now moved to a balcony.

We loved the Cove. Food was delicious & of a very good standard. Staff were very, very friendly & professional & made us felt very welcome & safe as they adhered to all Covid 19 regulations. Highly recommend.

Home to one of the largest unspoilt areas of forest and heathland in the country, free-roaming wildlife and ancient landscapes, the New Forest is an idyllic place for a holiday, only 90 minutes from London. Stay in historic villages and explore the great outdoors with walks and cycle rides through ancient woodland, or relax in the seaside towns and south coast beaches of the Solent.

We walked over from Hope Cove and found it a pretty unattractive beach with a massive pipe leading out to sea and a horrible sewage smell. Happy we hadn't bothered to go there for a day out!

Excellent food and drinks, friendly and efficient service, and most importantly dog friendly throughout the building. Ate there most nights during our stay in Hope Cove

We visited the Hope and Anchor several times during our week's holiday either for food or just drinks and each time we were made very welcome and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Loved this beach we spent a lot of time here. Plus side - the car park machines don’t work and it was impossible to pay via the App. The parking attendant told us not to worry about trying! Minus - very smelly toilets.

This wasn’t the best pub in my opinion but it seemed quite busy. There is a lovely balcony with great views. I had 1 meal and chose the mussels which were tepid when served and I asked for them to be heated (something I don’t often do). They were slightly better but not particularly good value for money. Drinks were expensive to, a glass of wine over £9. The meal was a bit overpriced which was a shame

Absolutely fantastic course and club. Warm welcome from everyone, the most amazing views and the best selection of ladies clothing i have ever seen in a UK pro shop.

Walked over from Thurlestone to this lovely setting, 2 beaches to sit on. Just check in advance what facilities are open as the bar we wanted to sit at was closed for the day but we did manage to sit inside at the other option but no tables outside due to being very busy

Friendly and helpful staff and a decent choice of local beers at reasonable prices. Food a little pricy for what it is and after being served a cold plate of fish and chips at £13 a head we wouldn;t eat there again. All 3 meals were cold which was unacceptable. Staff though were great. Nice location with views out to Sea and handily placed a few yards off the coast path for those in need of refreshment! Would have been a 4 star review if food hadn't been cold.

A beautiful location, and just the right amount of facilities. The roads to Bigbury can sometimes be a challenge due to narrowness, but it's worth it when you get here.

We had a great meal here on a lovely evening. The chef clearly enjoys his work and it was a really fun atmosphere with great food. Note that you need to book well ahead if you want a table in the evening in the summer time, and also that - in keeping with the beach house atmosphere - you may share a table with other diners.

It was very busy but we didn’t mind waiting. The fish n chips were excellent. Staff friendly and helpful. Good safe practice was visible during difficult times of COVID-19 but we both felt safe.

We have visited Soar Cove many times and we love the tranquility. We go out of school holidays and often have the cove all to ourselves amazing .

They did very well considering first week open post lockdown and they were inundated. Delicious pizzas with great atmosphere right in the middle of Hope Cove. Thank you

Lovely location, but felt the prices were a little steep and the car park next to venue was also very expensive. Crab sandwich was expensive but enjoyed by my husband and I've never payed so much for a "quite average "sausage roll. Staff were friendly!

A fantastic pub with lovely helpful, friendly staff and great food and service. We went into pub most afternoons/evening during our stay. A great asset to Hope Cove. Wonderful!

We had a meal in one of the pods which we thought was great. The weather wasn’t good but we still sit in the busy heated pod and see the view. Service was good and the food was really nice. Would definitely go again.

Devon is a county of contrasts, from the sandy surf beaches of North Devon, to the crystal clear waters and pretty coves of South Devon, with rugged Dartmoor sandwiched in between. Whether you're finding your sea legs in the sailing mecca of Salcombe, exploring the South West Coast Path with your dog in tow, or simply enjoying a Devon cream tea, a holiday in Devon is hard to beat.

Lovely pub, lovely friendly staff and great food and of course great local beer. On good weather days ,lovely to sit upstairs and enjoy the great views over the cove

Great location and quality food. A little pricey though but always busy. Book well in advance if you want to eat inside on an evening. The fish finger sandwich is the best ever!!

We love this all year round very dog friendly beach. Great even when the tide in. Plenty of parking and a great cafe to boot.

The Beach House is a great little eating place to have within easy walking distance of the house. It does get very busy though, so booking at least a couple of weeks before you arrive is almost essential.

very good beach, dog friendly. the road access is via single car lanes with passing places, this seems to work early season apr/may but could be fun in the high season.

Hope cove has many excellent dog friendly eateries and is the perfect spot for a rest after a walk along the coast path. My personal favourite is The Cove as they made us and the dog very welcome both inside and out. Their Burgers are outstanding. There is no phone signal to book your carpark on the Ringo App so either pre-book before you get there or take some change!

Surprise a loved one or simply treat yourself whilst on holiday to a gorgeous, locally grown, sustainable, wildlife friendly bouquet of flowers from Blackawton Blooms.  Delivery direct to your holiday home. Not going to be in? We can arrange delivery and access either before you arrive, whilst you're out at the beach or at a time to suit you. Available throughout the South Hams.

We weren't very impressed with our meal here... Overcooked fish and steak, undercooked peas and service could've been better.

It was time to go home so we had breakfast here, It was raining and windy. We had a long way to go so we needed to have something filling. We both had a Full Monty and it was filling and delicious all organic local produce. Go there try it !!

We had lunch, drinks and dinner at this great hotel. The views are spectacular and the service is always second to none.

Love the new management in situ - the pub has improved 10 fold! The managers and servers are outstanding - nothing too much trouble. Great to have the pub in great hands

We ate in The Hope and Anchor twice during our stay near Hope Cove. The food on both occasions (evenings) was very good and all the staff very polite and helpful. There was a good choice on the menu which changed with specials being added. Would recommend booking as it is very popular.

Yes,but did not have anywhere to put food waste i.e. recycling and the bags mentioned in the house book were not there!but apart from that weenjoyed our stay.Thankyou and your team .

Whenever we are staying in Thurlestone we eat regularly here. The place is great and the food is above average and reasonable in cost. Equally, the staff are very friendly and helpful. I say this as my partner is disaabled and they always allow her to make a reservation near the door.

Supposedly a dog free beach in the area we were but is not at all- everybody ignores the signage, this makes taking small children to the beach more challenging when dogs are going to the toilet and running free all over the sand. An absolutely beautiful beach aside from this

This was a lovely beach for our 3 generation family and we spent every afternoon on the beach (when it wasn’t raining which was thankfully only one day). Only a 10minute walk from the property we were staying.

The Cove Seems very popular. If you want takeaway be prepared to wait outside for a hour while they attend to in dining. Overstretched at times causing fractious staff. Don’t think I would return personally

This is the place to eat and drink in Hope Cove! Great atmosphere and the Seafood Platter is not to be missed! Can't wait to return!!

We had 2 fabulous meals at the Hope and Anchor, lunch and dinner. The staff were so helpful and really accommodating. Can't recommend this place highly enough!

Lovely place. Child friendly with fantastic views. Only downside is the dogs that are allowed on. It can get very busy in high season and the dogs can be a pain if running loose especially if you have got little ones. We have got a dog so it's not because we aren't dog lovers!

Visited twice in the week. Food excellent as before. Staff charming, and so helpful. Terrible trouble with booking on line. Mentioned to John and hopefully they can get it sorted. Music far too loud, difficulty speaking to one another although sitting opposite.

90 minute wait for lunch when we were the first people to order when the takeaway opened. Staff unable to tell you why there was a delay and the cost were exorbitant

A tranquil, enchanting destination for families and dogs alike. Away from the hustle and bustle , outstanding views, fabulous beach for walkers and bathers.

Recent storms have left piles of seaweed and rocks across the beach. The rocks made it impossible to swim and board in with my family.

Rude and slow they really couldn’t be bothered with customers. Lots of plastic which is poor for a National Trust endorsed cafe. Shabby.

Previously loved this place but the restaurant was under staffed following half term/jubilee and as a result service was really poor

Amazing place - food, drink, staff, atmosphere all excellent. Specials board for food and drinks especially recommended.

Had several really good meals here. Staff were very friendly ad helpful. Its a bit small for covid distancing but the windows and doors were kept open.

This little cove was full of interest and activity. It was ideal for our sort of swimming but the water was quite cold. We noticed that the seawater was not being tested as usual but it seemed clean and clear.

A hotel restaurant with unbroken sea views specialising in locally caught fish and seafood as well as popular three course Sunday lunches.

Have liked this pub for years.Don't know if this relates to Brexit or the pandemic but find the new menu rather less to our liking than the old ones full of pub favourites.Perhaps we are too old fashioned! Also miss tables directly outside, now moved to a balcony.

Food nice . Service ok . Location beautiful . Very expensive . Watch out for service charge added to the bill . Won't be going back as i felt like we were taken for every penny and the food wasn't that good

A beautiful coastal village with two sandy beaches. The village centre has some pretty thatched cottages and there is a good choice of places to eat most with sea views. We ate most nights at the Hope and Anchor and they are dog friendly. We enjoyed walking along the coastal paths with fine views from both sides of the village. Hope Cove is a good base to explore South Devon with Salcombe, Kingsbridge and Totnes within easy reach.

Excellent seafood, though it books up well in advance. Phone before you arrive - a month in advance in high summer. Sadly they are no longer able to provide takeaways from the menu (pressure from the NT) but offer sandwiches and chips from a window.

A tranquil, enchanting destination for families and dogs alike. Away from the hustle and bustle , outstanding views, fabulous beach for walkers and bathers.

Stunning cove with plenty of parking and restaurants for food and drinks. A lovely place! The clear water and gorgeous scenery made this a little paradise.

Excellent food and drinks, friendly and efficient service, and most importantly dog friendly throughout the building. Ate there most nights during our stay in Hope Cove

Sunday lunch is a must! the service was marvellous, food delicious, and the dessert trolley should probably be included as a designated feature of the AONB :-) Views are lovely too!

Supposedly a dog free beach in the area we were but is not at all- everybody ignores the signage, this makes taking small children to the beach more challenging when dogs are going to the toilet and running free all over the sand. An absolutely beautiful beach aside from this

Lovely beach. Great for dogs too. The car park is owned by national trust and if you don’t have any money for the parking you need to download the app. Problem there is no signal once you are there to pay for your parking! Best bring change.

Fantastic to be able to walk dogs down there. Nice cafe. Could do with dog poo bag bins on or near beach Car parking expensive just to be on beach for half an hour

Not the best experience here . Nothing special about the food and found the staff quite abrupt. I had booked our table well in advance and ended up with the worst table , door was permanently open and was very drafty . But this was just our experience maybe others will have a better one .

Friendly and helpful service during busy and challenging times due to shortage of staff. Meals delicious and perfect setting even in the rain

We loved the Cove. Food was delicious & of a very good standard. Staff were very, very friendly & professional & made us felt very welcome & safe as they adhered to all Covid 19 regulations. Highly recommend.

The food and drink at the Beach house is slightly more expensive than the other local eateries in the area . We sat inside and the atmosphere was good but the tables are a bit cramped and cosy. The menu is not very extensive with only a small dessert offering . We had fish main course only which we enjoyed very much but the staff were busy and it took quite a time to arrive. The staff were all young and very pleasant and helpful.

Love this place. Great music, open fire, really good food. Always a good vibe in there, friendly staff and good service. Lovely range of drinks too! Such a good addition to the village.

Fantastic golf course with spectacular views and lovely friendly people working there. greens and fairways in excellent condition.

Excellent place to stay. This was our second time. Great property and location. The only negative was the heating. Couldn't work out how electric heaters worked and no instructions. Eventually got two working. Other than that, a great holiday.

Great location for getting into the sea. Largely weed free, clean and no jelly fish when we were there. Bit weedier after the strong winds during the last half of the week

This. zero represents potential spiritual growth. and the infinite oneness of the universe. Seeing these powerful numbers together. is a reminder from your ...

The staff were very friendly. We only had takeout from there one night which was pretty expensive for a pizza and nachos but was very nice. It gets very busy with a young vibrant crowd.

Amazing place - food, drink, staff, atmosphere all excellent. Specials board for food and drinks especially recommended.

Hope Cove is a beautiful place to stay with small but lovely beaches. Sunset is marvellous and views from adjacent hills are excellent. Pubs and restaurants well attended and situated on /near the beach.

Missed this pub being closed this year. Hopeful that it will be open in March 2021 when we re-visit the glorious Hope Cove again.

Great location and great food , it was very busy ,great atmosphere the staff were lovely and so helpful trying to ensure you managed to get a table . Also dog friendly which was a bonus when coming off the beach and having a drink on the Sun deck . We will be back .

Yes we really enjoyed our stay and will be definitely booking again. The enclosed lawn was ideal for our golden retriever. Loved the view from the decking.

Beautiful location with stunning views especially as the sun is setting. Food is very good too and staff are very friendly.

Tardis-like pub with traditional style bar, light and airy restaurant upstairs and large outdoor space. Great selection of beers, wines and food was delicious. Very welcoming for dogs and families!

The Hope and Anchor is good for pub food very convenient as it’s in walking distance of Inner Hope being dog friendly is important to us. The staff are efficient, friendly and welcoming.

Feel this once must visit cove has gone backwards. The "pods" on the slopes of the Cottage Hotel seem completely out of character.

A quiet sheltered cove where you could spend a sunny morning watching the blue sea. Coffee at the inn, then walk up the steps and down into Inner Hope to the old lifeboat station and the thatched cottages. There’s a small hotel, high above the road, with a terrace. The English Riviera

Only visited for an excellent cream tea on the terrace and for a drink one evening on thet terrace to see the sunset. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Great pub! Massive improvement on the last time we came before the renovation. On sunny days we say out on the balcony looking out to sea, then when it rained we cosied up inside. The place is huge and the food was really good too. We ended up in there almost every day!

Brilliant as always. Staff were obviously busy but polite and helpful. Bit of a limited menu outside and take away but understandable in current times. We look forward to our next visit with the Cove. Thank you

For the second time, we enjoyed an excellent Sunday lunch. The restaurant was much busier this time but the staff were still all very attentive and very kind to the children. The view out over the cove is lovely.

our first time booking through toad hall cottagesand our first time at seabrook. was that impressed we have booked it for next year

Menu looked good but we never got to try it as the evening we went in the staff were stressed and busy and were disinterested in trying to accommodate us to the point of rudeness.

Beautiful sandy beach. Large well organised NT car park which filled up quickly on a sunny weekend. Younger family members enjoyed hiring a paddle board for half an hour. Wet suits a good idea!

We had a fantastic dinner here (pre-booking weeks in advance is essential). The food and ambience are superb. It is expensive, but as a 'once in a holiday' treat it is, in our view, well worth the expense!

A handy pull chain lets users easily power the fan on and off, and a metal safety grill provides protection from the moving blades while it's in use. Pre- ...

A glorious beach! Dog friendly, sandy, rock pools at the far end. Parking handy, spectacular views - the stone arch beats Durdle Door in my mind..... Delightful. Loved it.

Very friendly and efficient staff who made us feel welcome with the dog. The food was served very quickly and was very tasty!

Amazing beach and in our opinion the best in the area. Great cafe and surf shop where we hired SUPs. Visited most days and was always impressed. Visit in the evening for a beautiful sunset too. Walking over to the island and exploring there is also worth it.

A bit odd pub-wise, as you have to be seated at a table & wait for a server even if you just want a beer. Mad busy when we dropped in at the weekend, but better during the week. Can heartily recommend the fish and chips. Good selection of beers, and the staff were friendly, chatty & helpful.

Food nice . Service ok . Location beautiful . Very expensive . Watch out for service charge added to the bill . Won't be going back as i felt like we were taken for every penny and the food wasn't that good

very good beach, dog friendly. the road access is via single car lanes with passing places, this seems to work early season apr/may but could be fun in the high season.

We can highly recommend the Cottage Hotel and the Lobster Pod. We had 2 amazing meals, really efficient, friendly service and reasonable pricing.

A beautiful beach, soo close to our holiday accommodation we could go home for lunch. Just ass well because the beach cafe is overpriced and very average.

Had a lovely lunch here. The staff were welcoming and gave great service. Simple menu but all prepared beautifully and definitely freshly cooked to order.

Really nice food and service so good. Would recommend it highly for food and the lovely views from the balcony for drinks.

We ate here twice in a week. The food is fabulous and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. Very dog friendly too. Will definitely visit again.

Rude and slow they really couldn’t be bothered with customers. Lots of plastic which is poor for a National Trust endorsed cafe. Shabby.

Lovely cove, we loved to watch the tide coming in, and kept check of the low tide times to nip across the sand to the pub instead of going up and over the head

Wonderful location and great food, but the prices are expensive as you're paying for its premium site. Also very small inside area so you need to book if you want to sit undercover.

Inner Hope is the best part and the village is very nice with many thatched cottages. The Sun Bay Hotel is very good and does excellent cream teas on its balcony overlooking the sea.

unbelievably expensive now. even London friends thought it too much now. £80 for simple lunch of 4 sticks of asparagus for me and piece of fish for husband and 1 drink each. we will stick with a picnic from now on

Hope Cove is quite pretty but is very small. There are some lovely walks across the headland either way. There is not a "collection of shops and cafes" there is only one shop, a pub, a bar and a restaurant. The beaches are very small and when we were there busy despite being covered in seaweed.

Had several really good meals here. Staff were very friendly ad helpful. Its a bit small for covid distancing but the windows and doors were kept open.

Great breakfast and coffees. Wasn't sure about the plastic pint glasses for water though and the tables were very sticky

Easy parking . We wanted to visit Burghfield Island so didn’t spend time on the beach here, only whilst waiting for the sea tractor to take us across. We walked back as the tide had gone out. Out 3 year old was fascinated by it , as were we all! A great family adventure

Lovely pub, lovely friendly staff and great food and of course great local beer. On good weather days ,lovely to sit upstairs and enjoy the great views over the cove

Fantastic beach! The walks we had at low tide were amazing. Especially when we walked along the river looking over to Bantham.

Recent storms have left piles of seaweed and rocks across the beach. The rocks made it impossible to swim and board in with my family.

We are delighted to see you enjoyed your stay in Hope Cove. We really appreciate the feedback and will look into the points you have raised.

We enjoyed our stay at Seabrook, The light and spacious accommodation was much appreciated as our two sons came to stay for a couple of days. The garden and location were convenient and we liked the views.

Our party of eight ate at the Hope and Anchor four times during our stay. We were always happy with the food but it would have been nice to have a bit more variety on the menu, especially some more fish dishes.

Very good but pricey and not the best service. No kids menu at breakfast, they expect children to have a £9 fry up which isn't great for our 6 and 8-year-old. We also asked for poached eggs rather than fried and they didn't do this.

Beautiful beach with sand and rock pools. Canoes etc available to hire at reasonable prices and cafe with great food and drink

A really nice walk over the hill tops from Thurlestone, Hope Cove is pretty but a bit busier than other places we visited. Lovely views.

A fantastic pub with lovely helpful, friendly staff and great food and service. We went into pub most afternoons/evening during our stay. A great asset to Hope Cove. Wonderful!

Lovely bar/restaurant in the centre of Hope. Nice ambience. Nice beer too! We've been before and were more than happy to make a return visit. We also had excellent pizzas as a takeaway on our last evening. To be recommended.

Closed the week we were there in early September which was a disappointment. However we had the most delicious pizzas there back in April.

What a delightful surprising find ! Food and wine selection amazing for a beach side bar , staff friendly and will recommend but ideally would like to keep this place a secret !!

Menu not great, and expensive, one of the meals wasn’t what was stated on the menu and definitely wasn’t worth the money. Nice looking place with lovely views.

loved the food extremely helful in booking ( i`m an old biddy) seating inside for younger generations But I loved it!!

This is our favourite find in the South Hams. It’s beautiful. There is everything you need nearby; lovely pubs and afternoon tea, friendly locals and beautiful beaches.

The staff were very friendly. We only had takeout from there one night which was pretty expensive for a pizza and nachos but was very nice. It gets very busy with a young vibrant crowd.

Great, speedy service and super friendly , helpful staff. Really appreciated the little extra touches making dogs so welcome too ! Thank you

Tardis-like pub with traditional style bar, light and airy restaurant upstairs and large outdoor space. Great selection of beers, wines and food was delicious. Very welcoming for dogs and families!

Great food, we had lunch there twice in the week we stayed. Wonderful fish, the crab fries are to die for. Compact inside but a great atmosphere. The staff are lovely.

Great quiet beach with wonderful coastal walk alongside gold course round to Bantham. Parked free in field adjacent to golf club, although we understand they will be charging for parking soon. Only downside was that the public toilets were closed - we went October 2018.

Great beach for walking the dog - only part of the beach is restricted. Not overcrowded as we visited out of season and some lovely views in all directions.

The takeaway pizzas were very good. We were somewhat frustrated by not being able to have a drink on the terrace on Wednesday 8th September, due to an extended closure that week.

This pub has vastly improved sine the last time we came to Hope Cove much more friendly and food much better than previously!

Always a favourite. Excellent staff and very good food. The best breakfasts and enjoyed an evening meal here this time. Feeding breakfasts for 14 of us was not a problem. Service with a smile.

More holiday resort than working village. At present most eating establishmens are closed to visitors. None at all on Tuesday or Wednesday. Lovely setting and great walking.

Hope Cove is a beautiful place to stay with small but lovely beaches. Sunset is marvellous and views from adjacent hills are excellent. Pubs and restaurants well attended and situated on /near the beach.

It’s a proper old fashioned hotel which makes ever guest equally welcome and a wonderful nostalgic vibe. The food is delicious and check out the “map room “.

Not the best experience here . Nothing special about the food and found the staff quite abrupt. I had booked our table well in advance and ended up with the worst table , door was permanently open and was very drafty . But this was just our experience maybe others will have a better one .

We had 2 fabulous meals at the Hope and Anchor, lunch and dinner. The staff were so helpful and really accommodating. Can't recommend this place highly enough!

Fabulous place. I love it here. They are very friendly and welcoming and there was no strict booking procedure. I rocked up and had a delicious pizza on their terrace!

Lovely area to visit our grandchildren loved it for body boarding. It was safe for them and also had RNLI lifeguards present. A trip on the sea tractor was quite a highlight for them.

Wonderful location and great food, but the prices are expensive as you're paying for its premium site. Also very small inside area so you need to book if you want to sit undercover.

This was a lovely beach for our 3 generation family and we spent every afternoon on the beach (when it wasn’t raining which was thankfully only one day). Only a 10minute walk from the property we were staying.

We stayed in Hope Cove last week and had a lovely stay. I can only have gluten free food and it can be very difficult to find somewhere that offers it. Much to my delight, we saw that you offered gluten free pizzas. The pizza was delicious and the service was great and quick! Would deffo recommend.

Yes,but did not have anywhere to put food waste i.e. recycling and the bags mentioned in the house book were not there!but apart from that weenjoyed our stay.Thankyou and your team .

Just had an amazing week in Hope Cove with incredible weather and ate here on two occasions. Both equally enjoyable. Cosy atmosphere, log fire, friendly staff , great food and dogs welcome! Loved it!! Thank you

Every time we visit hope cove,we come here. The food is 5 star, had seabass and mackerel on 2 separate visits.taste amazing. The service from the staff, both on food and bar was first class, nothing was to much trouble, also rattleys cider is on draught, just perfect.

Love this place. Great music, open fire, really good food. Always a good vibe in there, friendly staff and good service. Lovely range of drinks too! Such a good addition to the village.

We had an excellent two course dinner here, beautifully cooked and served, and generous portions Pleasant, attentive, efficient and cheerful staff. Lovely dining room with gorgeous view and comfortable lounge for coffee.

Excellent beach for all the family with dog friendly sections. Massive sandy beach when tide out. Cafe and toilets above beach. Paying for car park very difficult unless you have coins.

Absolutely love this place! Perfect for families, safe swimming and and lots of rock pools to explore. Our kids were down there every day. Can't wait to come back next year. Mrs Sutton

Very poor and rather rude service, had to wait 45 mins for two takeaway portions of chips while seated customers were served first.
