Am I to assume you cannot have both the regular PLCSIM and Advanced installed?  That is unfortunate if it is the case.  When you launch PLCSIM Adv, can you download to it after define a generic PLC so it shows up as CPU common (of the right plc family)?

I'm trying to connect directly to port 1 X1, I'm not sure what you mean with configuring the main PLC adapter. It worked with the same settings on a local VM

I'm trying to download to an PLCSIM Advanced instance from TIA. I can detect the virtual plc but when I try to download to it I get the error "0132:00002, Connection error, the selected online target could not be reached"The same setup worked previously on a local VM, but I moved to a virtual PC in the cloud.

I can download to it if I select "PLCSIM" for Online access, If I choose "PLCSIM virtual ethernet adapter" I can find the device but not download.

One consideration hidden in the documentation for PLCSIM Adv relates to which network connection on the PLC you are using.

I believe you can only connect to the main PLC adapter.  If your project does not configure that adapter, you will want to configure and then connect using X1 / P1 (and delete any topology related to X1).
