I will do my best to figure out how to test and show results. I don’t own any permanent inks. I have some resistant in Noodler’s walnut, Levenger raven black, and maybe Noodler’s Dark Matter.

Reviving this thread because I just received one of these ledgers in the mail today. It is a Boorum and Pease bought on Amazon. I’d like to use fountain pens so it would be more permanent. One thing on the label mentioned the paper could be erased cleanly. I suppose I could try fountain pens somewhere in the ledger.  It has an address area alphabetically.

Have any of you experience with B&P ledger books? I have an old one (20+ years) that will run out soon and was looking to buy another.

Oh, Amazon has them by the bushel ... more form factors, grid variations and page counts than one could ever need, but for me it's the paper that makes or breaks it. Here's the specific one I'm thinking about:

Add more realism to your training scenarios with a durable cardboard target built to look and react like a real active threat.

But, while the binding is super high quality, the paper has much left to be desired. It's basically crummy notebook paper : pretty absorbent with lots of bleed through.

I may be the only one, but I'm curious to learn your results.  I suspect nib size and ink will be critical.  But "erased cleanly" suggests a smoother paper.

Yep, saw those and was a bit discouraged (also my experience with my old one) ... but then again, we all know how manufacturers can and will source papers of varying quality without changing the product code or description.

(I'm slowly talking myself into it ... it's not that expensive and worst case I can use it with a fine nib and Sei Boku. That ink can redeem any paper)
