The PE300BFA is manufactured in USA and is compatible with most Olympus CLV-S models, Fujinon, Luxtec, Pentax, Smith & Nephew Dyonics 300XL, Storz 300W and Zeiss Xenon Light Sources or Neurology microscope. The 300W xenon light source lamp, PE300W BFA has 5 hole connectivity. PE stands for Perkin Elmer. The new PE300BFA is produced in America (A for American origin) and is the replacement for the PE300BF that used to be made in Singapore.

Robert G. “Bob” Bowers, age 82, passed away on April 6, 2024 in Roanoke, VA. Bob was born January 21, 1942 in Westminster, Maryland to Arthur I. and Geraldine L. (Fisher) Bowers. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Betty Thomas and Annabelle Orendorff and Brother Donald Bowers. Also, his Wife Eleanor E. Bowers and special Friend Mary A. Russo. Bob is survived by his Brothers Michael Bowers and Richard Long. He is also survived by his Sons Nelson Bowers and Terrence Bowers and a very special Friend Mary Sue Pugh.

Bob was in the U. S. Navy for 8 years with tours in Vietnam with a rank of EMI (E-6). After his second discharge, Bob obtained his degree in Electrical Engineering and then became a staff officer in the Central Intelligence Agency. Bob then moved to Roanoke, VA in 1989 and purchased a model train store (Ken’s Trains). Bob fully retired in 2005. Bob volunteered as a sales manager for the Norfolk and Western Railroad Historical Society for 22 years. He fully retired in 2016. With Bob’s hobby of trains, he authored 6 books on the Norfolk and Western Railroad and Norfolk Southern Railroad. Bob was a member of the following organizations: United States Navy Memorial of Washington, D. C., Loyal Order of the Moose since 1982, Norfolk & Western Historical Society since 1985, and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Vinton, VA Post 4522.

The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Friday, April 12, 2024 and 10-11 a.m., Saturday, April 13, 2024 at the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 91 Willis Street, Westminster (21157) where the funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., Saturday with the Rev. Samuel F. Chamelin officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Benjamin’s Krider’s Lutheran Church Cemetery, Westminster.
