Simply add about 4 oz of Waste Lock® 770 to about 3/4’s gallon of unused latex paint. Disperse the polymer throughout the can with a stirring stick and wait about 5 minutes. Viola! Solidified paint can ready for the trash!

Latex paint is an “oil-in-water” emulsion. Basically there are microdroplet of hydrocarbon latex suspended in water. They usually recommend adding kitty litter or sawdust to solidify the unused paint but that is only practical if the can is half-filled or less. (It takes about ½ – ¾ gallon of kitty litter to solidify a ½ gallon of unused paint.) For more full cans you now have to pour paint into a second container, add absorbent and make a bigger mess!
