I got to meet up with David Turner today and didn't even need to fly Southwest Airlines, since this discussion of #greaseanalysis was sponsored by ASTM International. Topic was the Proficiency Testing Programs (PTP) for new and inservice greases. Exciting to see for the first time the option for labs and practitioners that use ASTM D7918 Inservice Grease Analysis standard to evaluate their analysis programs. MRG Laboratories has achieved ISO 17025 accreditation for our grease analysis program, and we look forward to participating in this new PTP with other labs that utilize the Grease Thief technology, such as SGS, Bureau Veritas Group, POLARIS Laboratories®, Runningland Metrology & Testing (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., ExxonMobil, and Ecol Sp. z o.o.

Heck, I’m sampling grease when I’m not even trying! Rubbed the elevator door on my way out of the hotel headed to the airport after a successful #reliableplant2023. My initial field assessment is that this is some Mobilith AW 2, slightly darkened from service, showing a reduced Die Extrusion Index consistency value due to mixing with residual grease from the last lubrication. Now I really need to pop the Grease Thief Mini-Lab out of my luggage to assess wear condition and identify the mixed grease. And when I test for anti-oxidant levels, I can tell the hotel how to Optimize their replenishment intervals like in my presentation today! https://lnkd.in/eyM-ynaF
