The EMS Software is an enterprise-class resource and space management platform that fully integrates across enterprise systems, providing the visibility, control and insights needed in a flexible workplace. This is a two-phase project with the goals of: Increasing visibility of resources throughout the institute; Reducing frustration of students; Increase utilization of our spaces. The current system was an in-house application limiting the visibility of the data and the scope of coverage. The project increases cross communication between operational and academic use of all available spaces. It also increases utilization of spaces by identifying available resources while reducing frustration of students who are attempting to find available places to practice. For the purposes of user acceptance and training, the project was implemented with two phases in mind. The first phase (completed) operationally introduced the EMS system by replacing the existing in-house system. It included the new capabilities of the academic integration and introduced billing and scheduling of spaces CIM rents to outside agencies. The second phase includes training and familiarizing the students and faculty with the system and final implementation of equipment providing quick access to data. Show less

This project could not have been done without the success of a couple previous projects. This was the implementation of a new division of CIM called The Academy. The Academy's goal is to provide pre-college comprehensive musical training. To be successful, this required the design and implementation of programs, curriculum, courses, a Student Information System as well as integrations with other systems. It was an aggressive timeline but with a team of hard working people, allowed a successful implementation. Timeline consisted of breaking out the project based on the required components to go live in August with students and billing and what could carry into the school year to call the project complete in October. This was an exciting project that had many departments exited and anxious for the results. Many processes throughout the systems were manual, requiring redundant data entry which introduces the possibility of data entry issues. The implementation of a new Student Information System provided the opportunity for the basis of this project. This included an extensive review of processes, data input as well as data reporting needs. It considers five different systems involving three external entities. As each module of the project went into production, the impact was immediate for the departments involved. Most was the saving was time. Not only in the entry of information but the hidden savings when having to resolve issues from data entry errors. This ranged from applicants applying to the school, converting to students to gathering billing information from other school affiliates. Show less
