The CADD ambulatory infusion pump provides measured drug therapy to patients in hospital and outpatient settings. It is used for therapies that require a continuous rate of infusion. Central venous access and the use of luer lock connectors with a split valve septum are recommended when administering drugs via a CADD pump. Drug doses are concentrated into a small volume. If the infusion time needs to be altered consult a pharmacist for advice on safe delivery times to minimise patient toxicity.
