Carson Whitlock: Interesting take on Ogors from Tommy this time around! We’re seeing him bring Heralds of the Everwinter for a solid -1 to hit against shooting attacks for INFANTRY units wholly within 12″ of a beastclaw raiders hero, which certainly would have helped him significantly with 3 of his 5 matchups. While there’s still a solid meaty core of 2×12 gluttons, we do see some branching out with inclusions of the 2 Thundertusk Beastriders, a rather cheap monster with 10 control score and a throwaway shooting attack.We also see a Huskard on Stonehorn equipped to both shut off a key unit’s ward save once per game, and reliably get some attacks in via the Great Gutlord heroic trait. With Frost Sabres in addition to the Thundertusks, this list does not struggle to get those pesky positional tactics without sacrificing some key positioning of an otherwise important hammer unit. Lastly, the Mawpit is dishing out some serious mortal wound output to anyone that dares to get within 18″ of it, making this list dominate the positioning and flow of the battle.Nice work, Tommy!

Roland Rivera: This Lumineth list illustrates the evolution of listbuilding for the army as 4th edition has developed. When the indexes first released, Lumineth found success with a Vanari-heavy approach that involved heavy cavalry. As time has gone on, however, pilots have been incorporating more and more shooting, as Lumineth is one of the few armies in Age of Sigmar whose shooting remains effective.This list leans into that shooting strength particularly hard, as Sevireth, 2 Spirits of the Wind, and 20 Sentinels are quite the shooting battery. Sevireth and the Spirits are particularly good at surgical strikes, as their extremely high mobility allows them to get close enough to pick off foot Heroes and other important pieces, and the Hurakan Facet of War ability allows them to retreat to relative safety before the opponent can chase them down. This high mobility also makes them excellent at completing Battle Tactics, which makes for a unit that many opponents cannot ignore, but will struggle to properly answer.The rest of the list is dedicated to holding the middle and buying time for the shooters. Wardens are sturdy roadblocks, Bladelords can bodyguard your Wizard Heroes, and the Calligrave can consistently power out manifestations to further slow your opponent down. I like the inclusion of Ellania and Ellathor here, as they are a solid double caster with a potent disruptive spell in Total Eclipse that can provide some sneaky melee punch in the mid-to-late game. This combination of versatility and power is present throughout this roster, and so it is not much of a surprise to see it do well.

Walter Brock: A variation of an old classic.  Double Mortarchs.  In past editions, this list has been a power duo that has been around since OBR has been around.  This list continues to see our favorite pair of Mortarchs work together.

Starting with Katakros.  He has become something to always fear.  No longer is he limited by his combat profiles.  Now Katakros can sing for the fences from the word go.  Providing three units with +1 to their armor lets OBR be one of the few factions that can still save stack.The unit of 10 death riders are fast and have lots of attacks.  With the Kavalos lance pregame move, the deathriders are always a threat.  Great target for priority target.

Arkhan is a solid caster at 3 casts with +1.  It lets him reliably get out key spells and manifestations.  Having a 3+ save makes him a great target for Katakros’s +1 to save command. Arkhan also brings with him. A 4+ spell ignore aura. When fighting matchups like Tzeentch or Lumineth, it can get a lot of value.

Lastly is the 3 Immortis guard.  They serve one simple purpose.  Give Arkhan and Katakros a 4+ ward curing the combat phase.  The Relentless discipline provides a 5+ ward in the combat phase, along with the Immortis guard, which will provide heroes with a 4+ ward when nearby.  Add on top katakros’s ability to improve saves by 1.  Arkhan and Katakros can get to a 2+ armor save and a 4+ ward very easily.

Two smaller units of Deathriders benefit from the Kavalos lance Pre-game move and do simple side battle tactics without having to commit more important units.In the last detachment, we have a Soulmason with a unit of Immortis Guard.  The Soulmason is a solid wizard with wizard level 2.  Acts as a carrier for the Heroic trait and Artefact.  Aura of sterility protects the army from shooting by making it -1 to wound.  Helm of the Tyrant reduces enemy control score by 2.  When combined with Katakros, improving your own units control score.  It lets the list control objectives without needing a lot of units.
